i support Micah. Have any of you seen his throw-ins? Fruity.

As much as i jest about anything on this board, i could really give a fucl who people shag. Everyone gets turned on and/or falls in love with whatever they are into. Who am i to judge?

It would actually prollee be really fantastic for a sport in America if a really manly man type dude came out as an NBA or NFL player during his heyday and said "im gay." Some have done it at the end of their careers, to little fanfare, but i can't recall a major popular sportsman in his prime deciding to throw caution to the wind and say "this is who i am." Surely, there are gay players in the NFL and NBA. I can pretty much statistically guarantee it.

Baseball...it wouldn't be so much of a revelation. Some clubs have gay orgies in the locker rooms i think based on how they perform on the field. Just sayin.

cheers

Athletics seems to be the most liberal with respect to sexuality.

There was a headline on the BBC this morning that said "Gay beaten by Dix at League meeting"

I think its a sad state of affairs that no prof footballer can come out as gay because of the type of people that watch football. You can only imagine the abuse.

How would some of you feel to supporting an openly gay footballer??? Would you find if difficult.

I know within the women's game the FA are in complete denial about this and have tried to sex up the appeal of some of the England women players to appeal to men, poster campaigns and such. The irony was some of the girls they have used are more gay than me and thats saying something!!

No. In fact just the opposite. If the dirty little trannie came out I'd feel compelled to swallow my bile and start defending the twat.

You're obviously too young to remember what happened with Morley and Bishop at City Fu and remember Justin Fashanu?

Can't remember Blues layin into any of em. In fact Bish loved it so much he came back to us and played a superb cameo role in later years.

Come the fuck on. Bishop being caught in bed with Morley is biggest fucking football myth ever. Probably a rumour started by a rag. Bishop is happily married for fucks sake.

Justin Fashanu's story is sad.

It'd be great if one of the top footballers came out. Besides, I don't even think he'd be receiving that much stick. I mean what would people shout at him? Fucking homo? Errr......
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Has it been confirmed that he is gay?

It may be that he got someone pregnant and it was unplanned. He didn't want a relationship with her done simply paid her a large amount of money to get custody of the baby.

On a related note, Castleford Rugby League fc were fined £40k, a significant of money in RL, last week because their fans chanted homophobic abuse at Gareth Thomas. What do you expect from six-fingered banjo duellers? Well done the RL authorities

I just want to echo the sentiment that it doesn't matter at all what sexual preferences footballers I support have (as long they do it with consenting adults). As for Ronaldo, I despise him of all my heart, but would respect him if he came out.

This would not bother me in the least. As it is estimated that up to 10% of males are gay (or don't actually realise they are) it would stand to reason that up to 10% of footballers could be anyway.

All I am bothered about is how they play, not their sexuality. In fact, I would have even more respect for the gay ones if they actually came out and admitted it in a 'good for him' type of way.

Finally, for the record, I am totally sure and comfortable with my own sexuality.

Basically, I am a lesbian ...... trapped in a mans body!!

So, does that mean theres 390 gays on this website. Come on boys, come out to play.

SOF doesn't count. In my head all girls are gay........or bi ........hmmmmm.

Sorry gents but I don't think there should be a discussion about this. Especially in a thread titled about his child.

Does make me laugh that no one gives Martin Offiah shit and he`s played rugby. As for a gay in every team I think ours is easy to spot...Miriam de Jong.

the first one is right...Amaechi. He was a shit player. and didn't come out until after he was done with his playing career, at least his career in the US...dunno if he played more overseas.

My point about his being a shit player is that if he had been an All-Star or won some things then his voice would have been louder. As a crap player, and also English (sorry, tis true)...his coming out barely made the press here. No one cared.

I think, honestly, and this will be controversial i'm sure, that a HIGHER percentage of professional athletes are gay than the general population -- male or female. It's so taboo tho most of them, at least male athletes, would never come out.

Why do i think this? well, i did a lot of sports growing up, and if you find that the continuation of that activity into adulthood becomes your job and your job is hanging out with the same gender, sweating all day, bumping, wrestling, grappling and handling each other while also seeing each other naked, well...somethings got to give.

Sports is gay. FACT.

Also, related: Jesus is Gay. I've made my points about that before...no need to go into it more. One word: Disciples. The defense rests your honor.

Actually it was in reference to a friend of my dad's who got in an bit of trouble for carrying on with a young lad, he was arrested because the lad's mother claimed he was underage, turned out they were trying to extort my dad's friend and he wasn't underage and actually older than he claimed during their relationship.

Is still married to the same woman to this day.
