ant london wrote:Very disappointed with the interview on the OS today.

Doesn't seem like he has the appetite or willingness to actually fight for the No 1 jersey with Shay.

Very non-committal about fighting for the starting spot "I just want to play" he says....ie. doesn't matter if it's here or somewhere else, I just want to be the starting keeper.

I'd sell him now, I think re-signing Taylor for two years shows that the club is ready to do just that if he is not willing to accept what every other first team squad member will have to.

Not impressed

just watched the interview and i dont have this take on it. He comes across to me as wanting to show some humility in the sense to come across as part of a team and it not be all about him, him, him. His choice of words or body language look like he is saying that out of politeness rather than he really means it, so he isnt a very good actor. Im not reading anything into it more than that. He probably wants to be first choice keeper so he can play all the time.. and there is nothing wrong with that. He just feels he shouldn't come out and say that publicly thats all for fear of coming across as arrogant. imo

Dont get me wrong i think that way of thinking is great, but say for example given is a better keeper than he is
(personally im not sure) he gives the impression that he shouldnt have to work with shay to learn the trade and become a better keeper ultimately becoming better than given.

I know Joe came from non league football and maybe has the attitude that life isnt all about the money.... where as kids was groomed by big clubs with the lure of huge money, they have a diffrent attitude. I like Given and I like joe hart but if i play football with somebody i belive are better than me id want to train with them and pick up as much as i could off them.

Maybe Joe thinks he is better than given and thinks because Given was a big name signing he resents it. I dunno

But he definitely came across bad in the intervew for me.

He's gauranteed to start as #1 because Given is broke. The fact that he flew out earlier then required shows commitment. I say when Given is ready to get back in there start him off in lesser cup games and if he earns it he gets the #1 back because after the performances he's put in for us last season he deserves it more than Hart but i doubt he will get it back because Hart is a better keeper.

Just seen this....fucking illiterate spastics

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Practice_of_law

Anyway...back to topic

Another element of this interview/his attitude that irks me is the fact that the newspapers were all lauding him for being "keen" and returning to the club early in the USA.

BUT it turns out that the club actually asked for him to come earlier than he did and that he "didn't feel he was ready/needed more time"....

After that very strenuous 0 minutes of game time in South Africa????????

it says practice "OF" law. Not practise law. Anyway, you're the fricking practice of law dude, you should know. After being so up for the world cup a bit of r'n'r would have been in order. He may not have played but he still trained.
