2 points lost for Spuds and 1 gained for us on last season already.

I actually expected defeat and this is a Brucie Bonus Point.

I noticed that last season as well. They go out full guns to win the game in the first half, second half they then relax and try to play the game out. There high intensity play rattles teams and usually leaves them in a no win situation because they have to chase the game, allowing players like Defoe to hit them on the break.

Less nervous and slightly optimistic. Can't wait to see our full strength back four with Hart behind them.
Plenty of room for improvement going forward but with the options we have, it shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think too many teams will come away from WHL this season with any points.

It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

Great result and defo 2pts lost by Spurs. Hw many times have we said aboput the rags; "they didn't deserve any points from that game", then they went on to win the league by a point.
I didn't expect a great performance today, considering that some of those players will have hardly had a chance to have swapped phone numbers and many of the others have not had any form of pre-season.

If a bunch of strangers can bag a point at WHL having not had much chance to work together on the pitch...it augurs well for the season when they know each other and are physically up and running.

Agreed. We need to get the attack functioning quickly now though because we'll concede chances in the coming games.

I think it'll all come together quite quicly ted. now that Mancini has a chance to finally work with the full squad and players are able to work up to mach speed. Players also missing today...I'm quite happy.

We're like a woman...may take a while to warm up but when she does...WOW!!!

Content. Our team is still a collection of individuals. Spurs are a well drilled unit with some great players. Hopefully our boys will gel in the next month.

Joe won that point for us today pretty much, thanks Joe.

Really happy but somewhat bewildered. We have been billed as a team that can only attack but ironically it was our defence that shone brighter today.

I'm pretty happy with that. You expect to be under the cosh at a place like White Hart lane at some point and we took a bit of a pounding early on. But after half an hour or so, we settled down and eventually looked quite comfortable keeping them at arms length. Tevez more or less on his own never works for us in an attacking sense. He got little or no support from Silva who I was surprised to see stay on.

Happy with the point, not happy with the performance especially first half when were complete and utter shambles. I think a midfield of Barry, Yaya and De Jong is far too negative and does not work.

Tevez needs to stop dropping to midfield all the time or we need to play two upfront. We looked completely toothless going forward.

Gomes made...no saves. That is fucking shite attacking. 3 defensive mids is not good enough.

That said, we have the England No 1 now and for his prime, maybe 15 years of greatness from Hart. Kolo was magnificent.

0-0 is a good point.

Well...I feel just fine (now Ive puked up last nights power drinking )..we played like a bunch of stars put together for the first time and we still managed to shine enough in the second half - we can only get better and better.

Spurs meanwhile cannot play any better than they did do and they came away with a point.

Im happy.

3 defensive midfielders just means our entire midfield is actually played 20 yards further back than most other teams. That just invites pressure. Fair enough if we'd have been able to hit a long counter attacking ball, but we didnt. I'm already fucking sit of this Italian style of sitting back, we're not going to be good enough to play that way all season.

what the fuck happened to a good old 4-4-2? 2 normal centre mids who can do both jobs and be clever enough to know when to move fwd and when to stay back. I fucking hope we play that against shitter teams and at home too.

I feel relieved that we came through it.

Spurs will be right up here.

I'm stuck at Malaga airport till 3 am this morning, trying to browse this forum on horrendously slow internet connection ...

Anyhow, my two pence. first half was a nightmare. We looked good on the ball the first ten, but then just collapsed. Mich had a very bad day at the office and got t#raped by bale. de jong kept giving av#way pocession and SWP running into opposing defenders. Both SDilva and Yaya seemed a bit shell-shocked by the premier leage tempo. Hart was immense.

Second half was much better. Yaya showed real class with some great balls (to Sweep, to Richards, etc.). De jong, toure and kompany were excelletn in the defense. One point that stood out too me is that Silva and Tevez are too similar to function great together, at least as the two strikers in a 4-4-2. Another point is that we get too narrow when Barry plays on the left.

Fook, only 30 seconds to go, and soo much to say. Nebertheless, i was happy with 3 points. Lets kill scouse one next week (and Yeay! tomrrow I'm finally back home and have an internet connection.) Hasta la vista!

Going to White Hart Lane with a draw. I call that a good result!! That place is usually death for us.
These guys are Top Four material and we proved we could compete. It may be inclusive to the media.
But given all the new faces on our club I was impressed!!
