Negotiations going on for months apparently but he was still kicking us in the teeth last week. Anyway it's alright he's happy now, I wonder how our club feels though ?

Cheers for posting that mate, good to hear him being so nice about us.

Blimey, it's turning into a proper love in!

From the OS
Manchester City Chief Executive Garry Cook paid tribute to Craig Bellamy after the striker completed his one year loan to Cardiff City.

Bellamy has been the subject of a number of queries from Premier League clubs, but made the choice to join his hometown club and try to help them to promotion to the Premier League.

And Garry Cook said that City fans will have fond memories of Bellamy’s committed showing for the team during his time at City of Manchester Stadium.

He said: “I am sure City fans have enjoyed seeing Craig play for City. He has been a great performer for us since joining in January 2009, and I would like to go on record as thanking him for his effort and determination to our cause.

“It is clear that it was right for Craig to make a move, and Manchester City has the utmost respect for the choice he has made.

“There was a lot of interest in Craig from a number of Premier League clubs, but he indicated that he didn’t want to settle for just another club, but wanted to go to help his hometown team and try to help them win promotion to the top flight.

“It was an admirable decision, and we wish him and Cardiff City all the very best for his new challenge.”

Bellamy was unveiled as a Cardiff player this afternoon and is set to make an emotional home debut for them against Doncaster Rovers this weekend.

This smells of hush money to me.

Obviously he is gracious to Cookie and Mancini because they have probably agreed to drop a financial clanger to allow him to move by paying a chunk of his salary and basically agreeing to everything that he and Cardiff wanted.

However, it's all worked out quite well in the end. Mancini gets him out, we don't have him hanging around round sulking or going to a direct competitor and he can claim .... "he is going home to the club he always supported" and therefore still has his pride in tact..... hmmm!

On top of all that, he publically stated that we really are very nice chaps indeed who are on the way to achieving great things and he wishes us well in our future endeavours.

All made possible by City losing a fortune, but this is actually the last of our problems. On the public face of it, everyone is happy. Let's move on!

I only hope that we really have bought in players that are a level above what we know he is capable of.

He also mentioned that he was part of that team that took us to the next level; he is the history of our club.

Well Craig, I think you were a guiding light when you turned up and a gentleman when you left. Good luck at Cardiff and I hope you and your family have a great time in the land that you love. Farewell Boyo!

As I say, all now nicely dressed up with everyone 'appearing' to be delighted with the conclusion and all bessie mates.

Probably financially disastrous ..... but who cares. Money isn't our problem, perception is ...... and we seem to have come out of it smelling like roses.

A tip of the cap for Bellers after that press conference. I believe him to have genuinely meant everything he said... I mean does anyone on here think he's the type of character to accept 'hush money' or not to speak his mind?

Credit to Skysports though for playing an interview with the fat blue-dipper cnut Neville Southall though straight after they'd shown the press conference - basically he just said everything Craig said was a lie and we'd shit on him big time!

Just thinking out loud - not necessarily that's what I believe.

I thought the same thing when watching it at work, when i saw that the confrence was coming on. I was thinking to myself here we go he will slag the club off and mancini but it was the total opposite! i defintiely got a sense of something strange.

So everyone who stuck the knife in & chose to believe the lies spouted by the rag press about Bellamy, now accuse him of lying when he says nice things about us.

And Cook has gone out of his way to lie about Bellamy by doing a special tribute to him on the OS. Mutual lying session it is then. Nice touch by Bellamy to throw the extra lie praising Mancini too. Presumably he was paid extra for that as he had no reason to mention Mancini at all?

Imo this was about wanting to use Bellamy, like Ireland, as a bargaining chip in other deals but it went wrong so we got rid. Then the character assassins stepped in, demonising Bellamy because they were afraid losing our 2nd best player may make Mancini look bad. If only Bellamy had gone to Wolfsburg & Dzeko had come in, they needn't have slagged Bellamy at all & could have carried on sucking Roberto's cock whilst waving Bellamy a fond goodbye without all the mud slinging.

That's the first time i have seen Bellamy praise someone without an ounce of sarcasm in his voice. Well played that man. it was clearly obvious he really wanted the Cardiff move above any other deal out there. It seems to me we could have sold him to Fulham or Spurs but that Gary Cooke and Khaldoon went out of their way to ensure he could go home. Well played everybody all round. great attitude showed from Bellers. The gathered press were fucking gutted they couldn't get any scandal from him.

Having looked into the details, I think this is real quality stuff from the club. We had a thread about some of us having fears about how the club is operating these days but this is a big answer to a lot of those fears, voiced by some long standing fans including myself. It's been decided for whatever reason that Bellamy isn't worthwhile on the football side (wrong) but the way we've sorted it is sheer class & will encourage other players to come to this club.

Well done to Cook & Khaldoon turning Bellamy's loss into great publicity for the club, making freinds rather than enemies. Quality.

..and those of you continuing to stir shit, & slag off one of our best players; there's absolutely no need for it.

Dont think it'll stop a few more 'soul' threads though!

Quite possible, as Dave Jones said this had been negotiated for 'months', that Bellers actually instigated the whole thing. Especially as his family lives there and he said he'd been 'on the road' for 10 years.

ET, phone home!

Wonder what his missus feels about having him about 24/7?

This

I rarely believe these bluemoonesque "quotes", I pay attention to facts and what I see with my own eyes.

The facts here are that he's gone to a club that he's supported since he was a kid.

He's not a threat playing for opposition.

We have the option of return should we/he wish.

He's not draining a BIG wage from our budget.

Neither the club or Bellamy have lost face in this deal.

It's nonsense that Bellamy has instigated it & there's no need for anyone to suggest it. some twat will repeat it on Bluemoon & then the press will print it. Almost all deals are looked at for months. They'll be looking at replacements for Mancini now, even if he's around for 10 years. It's what they do. It's a simple case that Bellamy's being dropped from the squad by the manager & the club have sorted it in a classy manner. I don't see why anyone needs to create anything else to explain it.

His missus will no doubt leave him at Christmas.
