if Manicini drops down to 1.44 pts per game as suggested, that will land us with 58 pts. So NO.
if he continues on current form of 1.69 pts per game, that will land us with 64 pts. So NO
if on the other hand he recovers the 1.96 pts per game he managed last season , that would land us 71 pts. Another NO.

So NO on all current available evidence City cannot win the league. It is just not possible.

And that is the main reason i think we will. ;))

thank you

Out of Us, Arse, Chel and them horrid cunts, yes I think each as a good a chance as any. Chelsea seem to have lost form since Wilkin departure, Arse will have a dip and manure ain't the team they once were.

Ask again after New Year.

Is it because we don't have what it takes or because of current performances? Remember, if we win tomorrow we are only 3 points behind.

beefy , i think its because we are manchester city and are destined to win fuck all in my life time

The best answer yet.

Golden opportunity? That's ridiculous.

The aim is to break into top four. Anything else is bonus. That has been made very clear.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I recon Spurs have got an outside chance & we're expecting to finish above them, so absolute 100% yes.

5 teams can win the league this season. Wide open. However, Spurs showed yesterday that if you attack teams, you beat them. Take note Mancini.

Agree.

I voted Yes we can but any of the top 5 and also Liverpool who are not far behind can win it.
Will we win it ? On current form no, but who knows ! Let's see what happens today.

I reckon that we can win - the other top teams are in a transition phase and have nowhere near the strength in depth that they had a few years ago - but I don't think we will win, the players aren't hungry enough.

Obviously we can win it. With a decent run of results, a forward line that gels and a nice slice of luck. We could just win it.

Will we win it? Probably not on the showing so far. We need to improve, though fortunately for us, I think those around us are all in the same boat.

It'd be fuckin good though, wouldn't it?

We can. Someone might say it's ridiculous but I think even Liverpool could yet win it. 9 points away from it with almost 70% of the season to go. Good runs will see teams push up fast this season as teams seem to be dropping points here and there.

So there's 6 teams that could win it. Any of City fans, Spurs fans, Arsenal fans, Liverpool fans, rags and Chelsea fans can't be blamed for thinking of challenging for the title.
Though I don't think Liverpool will be up there. They rely so badly on their big players and if they're not firing they are definitely not good enough. I also don't think Spurs' backline is strong enough. Honestly I don't think we have that winning mentality yet, we don't seem to be able to push on for those last minute wins (like the red bastards for example) so there's Arse, manure and Chelsea. I still think it will go to Chelsea.

It's incredible, isn't it? When Roy Hodgson took over at Fulham, the team were in complete disarray. He plugged the holes and set about building a team from a solid defensive platform. Having achieved this, he consolidated a team of relegation fodder into a secure premier league side whilst punching above their weight all the way to the Europa Cup final.

This was seen by virtually everyone looking on as manegerial proffessionalism and Hodgsons stock rose to the point where he was even appointed to the Liverpool job.

Mancini does the same (albeit with more expensive players at the top end of the league) and he's seen as an Italian negative vibe merchant who should just fuck off.

So did hodgson win the league with his solid defense then?

So thats a no then. You can't win without scoring.

Italian league is a corrupt pisstake joke of a league. It's not the premiership. If you put us/spurs/scum/arsenal/chelsea and probably even liverpool in the italian league they would win it.

No mate, your statement is ridiculous. The aim should be to get as high in the table as possible, that includes 1st. Anything else is below that is a disapointment in varying degrees.

Yours is a very defeatist statement which should be now exiled from our vocabulary.
