a couple more thoughts...

firstly... who can afford to buy him? only real madrid (if they can sell their training ground - again).

secondly... amazing how this story breaks on the night that we go joint top of the table....

i'm looking forward to seeing to carlos holding the premier league trophy aloft in may!

Well the rumours, and even evidence,of his unhappiness have been apparent for some time, this would not surprise me,it would disappoint me though.

He is a fantastic player, and i pray this is bollocks, however,he isn't bigger than the club, and it wont be easy, but he can be replaced.

Perhaps there is substance to the rumours of Torres,Caroll and Dzecko.

i would like to think his agent would have something to do with this but alas, he's making 20% already, no-one else would pay him more. Is he due for contract talks?

I think the club have been preparing to replace him for a while, so we won't be left in the shit when he decides he wants out.

Hang on, he hands in a transfer request on Monday and the story breaks on Saturday night? That doesn't make any sense at all. Got to be Sunday paper bollocks...........if it is City should have the legal people out again, this is getting beyond a joke now. If it is not then heads will have to roll at City. If he handed his transfer request in on Monday why did City release the two Tevez interviews and his statement earlier in the week where he said although he missed his kids he was happy at City and was planning to see his contract out?

This is from the OS on Tuesday - the day after he apparently put in his written transfer request

They just can't get enough of Carlos! The most prolific scorer in the Premier League - 24 goals for 2010, two ahead of Didier Drogba - is back-page news whether he's leaving the pitch or chatting to the website.

And fair play to the Express - having gone to town yesterday on the story of his "moody" exit near the end of the 1-0 win over Bolton, they find space on the back for an upbeat Tevez tale despite the Ashes celebrations.

"Tevez: I'm staying put" is the headline that sums it up neatly over Richard Tanner's no-nonsense intro: "Carlos Tevez has vowed he will not quit Manchester City despite the emotional wrench of being apart from his family."

"Roscoe", himself a doting father, clearly sympathises with Carlos' plight at being separated from his two young daughters, quotes Tev from his mcfc.co.uk interview: "I miss my family, like anyone in the world.

"It's not easy for me living and breathing football all day while my little girls are in Buenos Aires. But it's something you have to deal with, and I know it is a sacrifice that has to be made when you've made a commitment."

He also quotes the forthright City skipper: "In any dressing-room you are going to have the odd problem, just like within any household. You have to consider there is a lot of pressure ... which the players are stuck with."

And that's the line that appeals most to The Sun, who headline Neil Custis' take with "Tev: Bust-ups a family affair" as he delivers a shorter version for his readers, including a pop at those who tell tales to, er, papers.

Neil quotes Carlos: "The odd thing gets out through people who don't have the best interests of the club at heart. It's just like any club. There are both good and bad vibes - but we pull together."

Meanwhile, the Metro, that commuters' delight, reckons that City will sell Craig Bellamy to Feyenoord if Cardiff, where he is currently on loan, are promoted to the Premier League. So clearly not in January ...

Over at the Mail, a more imminent proposition - Simon Jones' Screamer column reports that Wolves will ask to take old boy Joleon Lescott on loan.

I blame Mancini, can't handle the personalities. And yes, Carlos has carried the club.

IF this is true and DT Guardian who's fair minded thinks it is I would tell Tevez that we want him to complete the season and then he can leave for a team that pays us a proper price. He's obviously been unhappy for some time and would far rather play at Boca but they simply can't afford him. If he wants to go to Spain Real or Barca have got to pay the price.

Come on Carlos give us a really good half a season and we'll say goodbye with grateful thanks for all you've done.

If true it's confusing. Is it all about missing his daughters or not getting on with Mancini?

If it's the daughters' angle and he is homesick then a transfer becomes an irrelevance as he is talking about just giving up football. If he really just wants a transfer who the hell wants him and can afford him?

Disappointing anyway as there must be some truth in it.Just shows his head is far from clear and I just hope we can sort it out amicably.

I would like to know how the papers got hold of it?

I doubt the club would just release him though as what is to stop him going back to argentina and a month later signing for madrid with a huge £50m signing on fee?

If this is true its fucking madness. What does Carlos want? Transfer request to move where? Argentina? Who can afford him there? We wont be giving him away for free, and no club in that part of the world will get within 25% of his current wage.

We are joint top of the league, coming right into form, still in Europe and doing well.

Carlos played under Fergie, who he might not have liked either, but he fucking won shit didnt he???

He doesnt have to like Mancini, but Mancini will always play him when he's fit, so whats the big deal?

Carlos needs his head checking if this is true.

Nothing on the OS by the way, and I'm sure they would put something on pretty quick if it were true.
