wouldn't it be hilarious if their fans formed another splinter club over this, since they'd be too stupid to think to support FCUM

I really hope you are but my pessimism brought about by so many years of supporting CITY really worries.

The Glazers are my heroes for what they have done to the scum and it is a death knell in all business senses unless some one(organisation) comes in that can afford to just waste £500m. To purchase the scum for £1.5bn makes no sense to any ‘business man’ – in fact nothing over £800m makes any sense – so the Glazers will be there for evermore unless someone comes along for whom sense is not a factor.

Someone else asked:

1. Would the Glazer's want to sell their cash-cow, and if so, how much for?

Well I have always thought that the answer is about £1.5bn and that is why this worries me so much – the Qataris are one of only a very few that could come to the rescue of the twats. My logic for that is that the business model at the scum now allows the Glazers to milk money every year – just like an ‘annuity’ pension – lets say £40m.

So the question is if you can take out £40m a year on an ongoing basis until the asset falls down the revenue earning ladder – then how many years worth of that ‘pension’ has to be on the table before you would think of selling – I would guess in excess of 10 – perhaps as much as 15 = £600m.

So the Glazers would not sell for the £800m that the ‘Red Knights’ were considering – representing the maximum value in business terms – ‘cos this would have just gone on debt repayment and the Glazers end up with nothing – but if someone offers £1.5bn – then I would guess that it is a no-brainer - and the scum are home and dry.

Re the FFP rules – not a problem – they would be the best placed club in Europe by a country mile and set to dominate for evermore. The £1.5bn would not be an issue – that was the purchase price – then they have all their revenue in a debt free world to leverage off – they could buy who they want for what they want and never break the rules

We all just have to cross everything and hope this is indeed bollocks and that ours is the only ‘fairy god Sheik’

It would truly be a nightmare. The best we could wish for is for them to be interfering owners and expect Nashrat or whatever his name was to play every game.

I don't know whether this is true or not but one thing has been clear to me since day one. Glazer's bought rags to make money when they sell them on. The structures of their loans showed it clearly as they were never able to keep up with the payments and I don't think they were foolish enough not to calculate this throughoutly.

That's why I've always thought that talk of their demise is very much premature.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Their demise only exists so long as the Glazers are allowed to keep doing what they're doing for a good few years. They've managed to get it to the stage where the 1st team has 'reached the bare bones' now but I think they do have money to spend provided they can keep the wages in check. If they do spend the money & it doesn't work though, they have big problems, especially if we start to overtake them.

Unfortunately, when that happens, the option of selling still remains. The rags will always be around but may become 2nd fiddle to us, which I don't mind. It keeps us on our toes.

Another point to this is the timing of the PiKs payment and the timing of this news. If it was the Qataris who paid off the PiK, prior to the WC being announced, and are now going through with the rest of the deal, surely that would suggest that they knew they were getting the WC in 2022?

Just like Pepsi announced them taking over a Russian soft drinks company the day before the voting took place.

Just a thought.

I understand what you are saying but I want them in the Conference South.

If the Qatari Royal Family shall take the rags over and thus establish themself into a huge competition with ADUG in the same Mancunia I will be eating all the shits on road from Heathrow to CoMS. File my words.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

I think you got the players mixed up Dazza. You're probably thinking about the Qatari Yassir Hussain who made it to the bench a couple of times but never made a first team appearance during SP's last season (or was it Sven's first and only ?).
Hie might get his chance now !
