The weakest link at City has and will always be the fans. Turned on Edghill, turned on Goater, turned on Dunne.

You have an agenda against Richards, dazby has an agenda against Milner, we get it, you don't like the players, now do the club and everyone else a favour and SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Guess who's back, back again...

Yeah, I've been accused of being a manager hater/licker many times, but I don't really go for player bashing. I have despaired at signings, but never wanted to keep bashing a player, particularly when he starts to show promise.

Micah Richards is not and was not the weak link in our side.

That's a fucking mad statement IBH - that he was our weak link when we were shit??!

Bottom line, Richards is not much better now than he was 4 years ago when he burst onto the scene. I often think the problem is between his ears, and running to the Sun with this shite is absolutely braindead.

Don't hate Micah, don't love him either, he's just a guy in our squad and the top level of the premiership is merely a jobber. Apparently he thinks he's better than that so a move may be the best thing for him at the end of the season, and on a deal that suits us.

If he stays, he deserves his place on the bench, if he goes then somehow we will find the strength to go on without him.

Of course...what Slim says goes...shit...opinions on an internet site...who would have thought it...fact is Slim...Richards is shit...that's not me hating the guy...i'm sure he's great on a personal level...has his own website and everything...this isn't personal...it's football and the guy can't play...Edghill was the same...Blue through and through and a great lad...but shite...no other way of putting it...if you don't like reading it then don't read the thread

I'm really disappointed to see Richards comments this morning, frankly I thought he had begun to really grow up as a man and a player but after these comments I can't see him staying past the summer, very sad indeed because of all the fringe players he has a great chance still of becoming a permanent fixture in the team.

But hey if he hates the rotation policy here and wants to go play week in, week out at a team in the lower reaches of the league (I mean lets be honest here city won't sell to a rival), spend his games battling not for glory but to survive, it's his choice, I wouldn't stand in his way.

You might be rotated here Micah but you will win things here, granted leaving will see you play more but to what end.

Think long and hard about you're next move, potentially it could define your entire career!

Eh? Richards was the RB of choice away at The Arse; this means he is clearly No 1 in Mancio's book. What a relief he sees that Micah is many moons greater than the muppet he bought from Hamburg.

Micah has played well this season, defnitely looking good. He was never in any trouble at The Emirates and that speaks volumes.

Agree with IBH on the issue of him bringing other players in to it. Not his place.

I really do question the agents some of these lads have. The advice they give is piss poor and some, like Micah, are thick enough to follow it.

He's definitely got qualities. Against Arsenal, though, there were still two problems showing through: 1, not being able to hold the line and so playing people onside, and 2, still being caught out of position up the pitch at times.

Is it possible we haven't found his best position yet - could he make a NDJ stand in perhaps?

I REALLY hope Micah reads these boards, or his agent does because I would ask him if he thought Zabs liked being left out too? I would also ask him if he'd read any direct quotes in the media from Zabs EVER, never mind this season? (Other than the occasional seemingly officially sanctioned interview). Try moulding yourself on a true professional like him, young man. You do yourself no favours whining to the press every week and it's starting to grate on my nerves.

I've never liked this arse-hole one bit. Such an average right back. I cringe every time i see his name on the team sheet.

Go to sunderland or tottenham and carry on deluding yourself.

You will only get full support from me - he just confirms a lot about his attitude for me

Been really shit for ages - cost us loads of points and then this season decides he can be arsed to make the effort required to get into the team - should he not be doing that all the time??

So this season he has been a good squad player and improved a lot on last season - but then he decides that this should warrant 1st choice selection - he has been OK - not very good

and then he goes into so much moaning detail to (of all papers) the fucking SUN

And I bet Shaun and Adam are glad that he drags them into it

Zab is the role model - works hard for the team and accepts the manager's decisions

Richards cannot be relied on to give his all for the team - his ego is just to big

I will go further - and I know this will irritate some - I am glad this has happened as it will see him leave the club - I was starting to worry that his improvement into an average player from a shit one might get him a regular 1st team place - and he will always let us down

Micah is a very useful squad player fdor us, not in our best 11 so either needs to accept that or move on. It's nice that City have this problem imo, gone are the days when he would be a shoe-in for a starting place no matter what form he was in.

Re: Richards could leave

Postby Dameerto » Fri Jan 07, 2011 10:07 am

If he can't see the benefits to the CLUB of a squad of players with options in all positions (incidentally leading to competition at rightback which could be argued as the reason for his increase in form this season) and only wants to see it from his OWN point of view maybe he SHOULD leave, it's a fucling team game not a loose assortment of individuals thrown out of matchday with a vague hope of making something happen. Fucling primadonas these days.

Fine him for bringing the club into disrepute by crying like a bitch and tell him he's going nowhere. Come summer, if boateng's improved or alves comes he can go if he's not happy.

Richard's has started to look better this season and, at the moment, I'd choose him at RB with zab at LB. The attacking fullbacks system suits his athleticism, pace and lack of positional sense, but if he can't see that, he's dumber than he looks.

Don't know if I agree. He did well when he had the ball and defending one-on-one, but as soon as the ball is somewhere else he loses focus. A centre- back should not have to defend down by the corner flag in a zonal defence and Kolo was dragged out there quite a few times to cover, while Micah was jogging in to the centre to take up Kolo's position. He's a typical man-marking defender, playing in a zonal defence, and it looks dodgy to me

This to me is the most sensible NON reactionary post of the thread.

I wonder if he does still poke his head round our door, not sure if MarkMak still keeps in touch with him?

Really am surprised that the club do not have it written in the players contracts that if they do interviews that they are not run past the club first? Yeah Yeah, free speach and all that but sorry in any other business you'd exoect it.

IMO Micah is neither SHIT nor Great, he is a useful member of the squad and he would do better to strive to being CONSISTENTLY good, then and only then can he even begin to expect to be one of the first names on the team sheet week in week out.

If he thinks he is having a tough time from not playing weekly, perhaps he doesn't keep in touch with Ireland & Sturridge to see how they got on "green grass" wise?

Sometimes i don't get these players? Rotation is to be expected if the club wants success.

Interestingly i would like to know (A) how much he earns a week (B) how much of a drop in wages he would take to guarantee weekly football?
