i think all of the OP's efforts -- Hector or whatever -- are fantastic.

I struggle with the fact that you don't find at least least some of those funny! As you say, each to their own I suppose.
I thought they were hilarious, even the rubbish ones made me laugh, their shitness added to the appeal, but I do appreciate a terrible pun. And all the while at the back of my mind my appreciation was stoked by the cosy glow of them picking Mario as something to exert their energies on, because they covet him, because he's mint.
