Agreed, insane bid for a player that is injured (relatively long term) and has only proven himself for 6 months in the prem league.

Newcastle could lose a lot more than £30 mil if they go down & if they hit a shit spell, Carroll is their best bet of turning it round & keeping them up.

Because there is 3 of Carroll and they will all sign with him?

£30M is a joke and Newcastle are beyond fools to reject that amount for a player who has been good for 6 months and has potential. Potentially he could end up being more like Carlton Cole than Andy, I would say it's more likely when you look at the percentage of players who fail vs those who succeed at this level.

Ooh, its getting exciting isn't it?? *in little girl's voice*

I believe they are going live to Eastlands in the next few mins on SSN. Shame I'm at work - is there anyway I can watch it on here?

30m for Andy Carroll. The fucking world has gone mad. They are RUINING football. Fucking RUINING IT!!!

Presumably means that Anelka won't go north and Liverpool don't want Kalou etc. The question is whether Liverpool's acceptance of the bid is contingent on them getting a replacement with the cash. If Newcastle say no is the deal off? There again how can Newcastle rationally say no.

I'll take Edin plus £3 million any time.

This is what they said on SSN:

Micah,SWP, Given and MJ not going anywhere. We might loan a winger. Not interested in Torres at all.

Suarez has to leave the country to apply for the work permit like Dzeko had to. It's automatic; he's played the 75% of A games for a top 75 side. He's already passed his medical. The deal will be done in time.

Carroll's odds of moving to Liverpool have just dropped sharply to 1/5.

Ha ha yeah mate, damn right.

I just had my scouse mate on texting - "broke my arse, by the end of today we'll have Young, Adam, Suarez and Carroll".

This is the same guy who laughed when we paid 25m for Tevez.

Carroll is a different proposition to Carlton Cole. He's a different proposition to Drogba or Dzeko too. He is what he is; a proper old school centre forward. The only one of his kind who's any good. Some of you have probably never seen one. He doesn't have the class touch of a Drogba or a Dzeko but he's a good footballer & just as difficult, if not worse to play against & in his own way, just as effective. It may be that he'll stop scoring & become nothing more than a battering ram or a Kevin Davies. I'll be very surprised if that happens however. I recon the only thing that can stop Carroll is his stupid Geordie mentality. If he can rise above that & not get 'homesick' , pissed, etc then if he signs for a top club, he'll be scaring the fucking shit out of big lads like Vinny K, for years to come. It's all up to him being dedicated enough.

I'd love to have him at City & would swap half our squad for him but we wouldn't have a clue how to use him.
