Were Bolton in the Uefa Cup when Anelka was there? Anelka was a world class striker BEFORE he went to Bolton. Bolton didn't make him a world class striker. The only reason top teams weren't in for him at the time I believe was because of his attitude and people around him.

What I meant, my fellow Bury person, was that he used Bolton to work his way back up the ladder to Chelsea.

We do have a tendency at City to look down our noses at Bolton and sometimes it is not 100% justified. They've got a good manager and some potential. I dislike them as much as the next man (possibly more so) but even as blinkered a fan as I am can see that this move will help Sturridge.

I personally don't think it will help Sturridge at all. It might help Bolton, maybe. What good did it do for Jack Wilshere? What good did it do Weiss?

EDIT: Also, didn't he leave City to go on to bigger and better things?

Wilshere got serious game time and is now a regular for Arsenal. Weiss played more minutes for Bolton in 6 months than he would've got for City in 2 years and it surely didn't do any harm to his World Cup ambitions.

So because Wilshere went on loan to Bolton, that's the reason he is a 'regular' now at Arsenal? And even after it gave Weiss minutes in the Premiership, where is he now??

It's not the reason, it's a reason. And Weiss is having a good spell in Scotland. Maybe he'll end up there permanently, which would be decent enough for him.

What's your problem? Do you expect these players to be transformed into superstars after half a year at another club? Loaning out young players is a good option, if you don't think they'll get enough minutes at a top club. What's wrong with that?

In Sturridge's case YES! Because he acted like a superstar when he was here and also after he left. What's your problem? Are you related to him?

Did he knock up your sister or sth?

I'm not even defending the cunt, just saying that loan deals in general can be beneficial for young players. You were the one dragging Wilshere & Weiss into this.

It's obviously not going the way Mr. Big Shot expected, but that doesn't mean a loan spell in Bolton at this time is not better for his career than warming the bench at Chelsea. Everyone bar him knew he wouldn't walk into Chelsea's line-up, so I don't see the need to be smug about this. I couldn't give a shit tbh.

How old was Jack Wilshere when he went on loan? 18?? Where did Rooney go out on loan at 21? I'm probably wrong but wasn't Tevez captaining his team at that age? I wonder if Messi went out on loan at 21?? I'm mentioning these pl;ayers because this cunt thinks he's going to be as good! How old is Balo?

I'm being so smug because a player left the club I support to go on to 'bigger and better things' and he's ended up on loan at Bolton. Do you think he's going to get in the Chelsea first team before Drogba, Torres, Anelka, even fuckin Kalou even in the next three years? Because I know he won't.
A loan deal at Bolton for any player at any stage of their career is bad in my opinion.

Fair enough. As I said, I stopped giving a shit as soon as he left.

Not in that constellation he won't. I agree with you.

I disagree. Making a move like that means you're either not there yet or you've fucked up royally. It's something inbetween those two for Sturridge & could end up being a good thing for his career. It certainly beats playing pocket pool on Chelsea's bench.

If I was loaning a player out i would be thrilled to have them play under Owen Coyle.

I'm serious Mase. He sets out teams well and develops skilful players. I, like him, am suprised noone bid for any of his players.
