Just a concussion??? That is like the Black Knight thinking he only had a flesh wound.

There is no such thing as JUST a concussion. He could be out for 7 days if it is mild, his career could be OVER if the headaches never go away.

In the NFL a player must pass a series of test for I believe two consecutive days (starting with no headache, no nausea and no dizziness).

Corey Koskie was a baseball player. In 2006 while cashing a ball in the air he tripped and fell, landed hard on his back and then on his head. He never lost consciousness, he also never played again. He did try a comeback (just training) in 2009 (3 years later!!!), but the headaches never went away and the comeback lasted about 2 days.

I am not calling you out since you apparently have not had much experience with them, but this is an EXTREMELY serious injury to get.

Check this out and it should clarify what I am trying to say.

We have a sport over here called Rugby. ;-)

Yeah, and the more these head injuries happen in the NFL, the more I suspect the sport will need to look like rugby. You take those helmets away and the players are likely to think a bit more about trying to kill someone with their head.

A friend of mine is convinced that the NFL will not exist, at least in its current form in 15 years because of all the injury rules coming into the game.

But my point was, a simple fall on grass ended a baseball players career. A hit to Nigel's head has to be worse...
I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I am all out of bubblegum.
