You could well be right. Unfortunately the only side I'm convinced will finish top 2 is Rags.

Scum will win the league by a street ( unless Chelsea take 4 points minimum off them) and Arse will be 2nd.It's a scrap after that.
Arse will play nearly 100% second string v Orient and have no problems in the replay.

If us qualifying for the Champions League hinged on the Munes winning then I'd want them to win. Simple as that.

I love City more than I hate United and I'm suspicious of anyone who has it the other way around.

Hear hear.

I also fancy spuds to win it over the rags.

You guys can be as suspicious as you like - I would need a lot of convincing if anyone was to suggest that they are 'more of' a CITY supporter than me - there will be some out there I am sure - but on all ways of measuring it they will be a very small percentage.

But I would have a big issue on such a night - yes I want CITY to be in the CL and I think that qualification this year is a must due to FFP - but I also believe that we are on the road to domination anyway and I want the scum to start their inevitable slide (unless they get bailed out by Qataris) - I do not want them having more wankfests.

Of course I would console myself if it meant we got qualification but no way would I be watching that night hoping for them to win

I am rational about all tnings in life apart from my love of CITY and absolute hatred of the scum

Not suggesting anyone is a "bigger" blue than anyone else - I find that kind of one-upmanship pretty lame to be honest - but I cannot understand people who would put their dislike for the rags ahead of City. It makes no sense at all to me.

I live within earshot of the rags' shitty swamp, most of my mates in Chorlton are rags (the place is rag fucking central) so i have to put up with their shite all the time.

I'd reiterate ADVT's point though, if it was Rags v Spuds in the CL final and our CL qualification depended on a scum victory I would 1000% want them to win, no second thoughts at all.

Put it this way mate, I don't define my love of City in terms of my hatred for United. My priority is for us to do well.

As someone in the top 3% of Blues or whatever you claim to be, I'm surprised that you'd miss out on the Champions League as long as the Munes don't win it. I hope they don't win it, but this was a hypothetical scenario with only one outcome beneficial to us. Which brings me back to my original point. I don't like them, but I self-identify as a City fan rather than a United hater. There are some people that don't (and I'm not necessarily saying that you belong to this group).

I do not want to make a big thing of it - but the suggestion of 'being suspicious' seemed to be inferring something in terms of quality of a being a CITY fan....

Maybe it is a generational thing, I am Salford born and bred and for my generation (IMO and experience) it is not possible to be a CITY fan without being a scum hater - but I do not feel the need to comment on those that are not the same

So I was just pointing out that there are die-hard blues out there who should not 'arouse suspicions' just because they have such a level of hate for the scum.

It is all about opinions - you (and others) have yours (I sometimes dispair over the seeminly endless posts that I see on CITY forums that overly sensitive and PC about slagging off the scum) - I have mine - and mine (IMO) should not arouse 'suspicions' - anyway - as I say I do not mean to make a thing out of it, it was just an unnecessary comment (IMO)

Fair enough - but as you say it is an hypothetical question - I do not feel that I have the right to be suspicious of your position - I accept that there are lots of blues that are less 'against' the scum than the old school like me - but I challenge your right to be suspicious of those that could not bring ourselves to support the scum in practically any circumstances

Nobody's on about "supporting" them mate. I'm a local/thoroughbred/howeverthefuckyouwanttodefineit blue myself AND I would say I hate the Munes. But I wouldn't be reminiscing about them having lost a final in 30 years' time. I would, however, be reminiscing about our first qualification for the Champs League.

I still maintain that anyone who sees Scum failure as being on a par with City success has their priorities wrong as far as I'm concerned.

...oh well best just let it go - I am not explaining things properly and am failing to get my point across

Obviously apart from family etc, I am first and foremost a CITY fan - after that 2nd and above most other things a scum hater.

Not everyone needs to be (IMO) but for those that are there is no need for others to be 'suspicious' - it was that reference I objected to

Typical nonsensical UEFA legislation; if a team plays better than the Champion's Lg winners over a season & edges them out of qualification, they are punished because a club fromn their league has won the Champion's League. Utterly fucking puddled.

I LOLZ at this but the answer's pretty obvious as it goes.

Rags-Spurs CL final...nightmare scenario, but i'd be rooting for Rags like crazy, esp. since i hate Spurs so much. Win-Win really. Like giving the Rags a knife to slice their own throat with giving us CL and the chance to take it to another level.

is this really hard for some people? I know i'll have a "unique" perspective on several levels, but FFS i love City, and i want City to gain from ANYTHING else that happens in football. i could give a fucl if the Rags hoist one more CL trophy...it'll prollee be their last for 2 decades. It's on like Donkey Kong. Come on CITY!

My "pretty obvious" answer would have been that I'd want US to qualify Doomy, so would want rags to win.

................ I wouldn't cheer them on though.

Very good and fair enough - it was just that given I was picking up a point that some posters should not disregard the opinions of others - then I best be clear that I am not doing the same - somewhat over-laboured it though!
