That says it all really, your a blue and always will be but that doesn't mean you can't push yourself a high as you can in your playing career.

Thanks for all the positive posts its been really great reading them.

Just to clarify a few points. The super league is currently 2 leagues above where City sit at present but we are top of the league and in with a chance of getting promotion to the prem. For City to make the super league they must remain in the prem for two years for when the window re-opens for teams to apply to enter the super league. The cost to enter this league is around 250,000 per team. The club would then have to agree to pay wages to there players. I am under the impression that at least 4 players from each team have to be on fairly decent wages. Obviously nothing in comparison to our male counterparts but not bad for a female in football.

City at the min cant compete with Liverpool in terms of what they can offer me but im hopeful that in the future they can, maybe too late for me but im not bothered as long as the next generation of young female blues have a chance at the club.

The club will not close the door on me and have made mention of me working with the younger teams in time. The super league will run from April-August so i could quite easily go back to City at the end of the summer and start the new league with them.

In terms of a replacement for me, there are 3 other senior keepers a the club but all prone to errors. They are all great girls but all lack the confidence and cocky-ness that you need to play in goal. The potential is there but sometimes fails to shine when it comes to games. They also don't bark like I do which the back line hate. I know that me not playing will have a negative affect on the team as it did when i didn't play over the last few weeks and that's what's concerning me. If I was 100% certain that one of the other keepers could step up right away i would feel a whole lot better about the situation.

if you decide to go and we draw you in the cup, expect a big crowd and a lot of harrassment and booing! ;-)

It seems a clear choice - if City can't get in the super league before you think you will retire then this is like deciding whether to stay with Sheffield Utd in the Championship or accept an offer from a Premier league team. Go for it while you still can.

Will city offer you a chance to put you through your badges whilst you are with them if you stay?

Yeah they have already offered me this chance, they want me at the club for pretty much life as per the lady that runs the club.

OK then in that case, stay, get your badges done and become assistant player coach, get some experience and go on to manage the full team and then onto England and win the world cup. Simples!

Badges will take you a few years to get UEFA A licence and it costs a lot of lolly to do without assistance if that's what you want to do.

My two penneth ;-)

Whatever you decide Andi, good luck.

SOF, surely you're not within 2 years of retirement? Goalies play til well in their 60's these days.

Very tough choice, that said when offered a new role it's always the best time to negotiate with current employers. Is there anythign City could offer to make you stay?

LOL I know all about it, I have coached my lads team from U6's and currently doing U14's.... I prefer U10's than the hormonal rabble I have at the moment!! There is less hassle in being a ref :-)

Amazing buzz when you see them put together a passage of play that you have taught them. Ups and Downs, its a dogs life, at least you would be getting paid, I do it for the love of it Grrrrrrrrr

I asked six women I am related to, work with, or know as friends, as well as the one I live with. Not all know football but all know about life. All of them said Liverpool, for the big chance that may never come again. Your heart will always be with City and you;ll be following City when your playing days are done. Since those playing days have a short span, take the opportunity that you've earned. Just wear something sky blue with City on it underneath whatever they have you wear as official gear. Good luck.

Haha I'm actually trying to get my hands on the City base layer from my mate who works at the club so I can cut the sleeves off and wear under the kit if I go. Televised game, goalie shirt off to revel my City top.......prob a big bollocking but im sure it would make some blues smile.

So...if City are that keen to have you, what's the chances that the same doors will be open in two years? Is it feasible that you can leave, enjoy as long as you can at Liverpool, and then come back to the fold?

Not at this stage but the future does look bright as the club become more involved. The club could guarantee me cup final tickets if we get there, then i would defo stay.....;-)

Go with whatever team gives you the best chance to play and win. You don't need
to justify it with us. It still won't change the fact that you are Blue through and
through.

They will be open in the summer if I decided to come back. The people I have spoken to within the set up are gutted but understand why I may want to go. Not one of them has stood in my way which I appreciate.

Andie,
Apart from the jibes about being a dirty scouse traitor and the dog grease for your old joints, You would be an idiot not to make the step up to the Superleague and test yourself against the very best....and even get a few bob for it.

You do have a limited career and you're a long time old and regretting of what you might have achieved in ladies football.
You leave with your name and your reputation intact, if you, with sincere regret and let them know that it is something you have to do, I am sure that with sadness, they will let you go with their blessings.

If you do get your badges, and if Liverpool can help with that, it opens up a huge career chance to remain in football for many years.
You may even return one day as City ladies manager(ess?).

DON'T ALLOW YOUR HEART TO RULE YOUR HEAD...and good luck.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

If they're offering a guaranteed 'small wage' for 2 years regardless of whether you get injured etc then I'd probably go for it. If not then I'd fuck em off and stay at City. Home is where the heart is an' all that Jazz.
