Sorry, this annoys me a little too......we shouldn't congratulate ourselves for basic human compassion. It should just be normal.

By saying things like that it kinda implies that we're doing it just to look good. It almost implies too that there's a kinda 'look at us being so good and saying nice things DESPITE him being a dirty fucking rag fucker' undertone to it - which is wrong. It should not even be considered that he once played for united.
