The stupid banner coming down is a nice side issue. I want the cup because I go to football with the ultimate aim of seeinng us win stuff. It's a monkey off our back, a great boost, and it will be a fucking fabulous day out and a feeling I thought I might never experience. Old School thoughts, I want to see us win that cup!

Given the thread rules Piccs...that would mean not making the CL...which in turn would mean damaging our future success...you would honestly give all that up for a day out?
The FA Cup is a fine trophy with a ton of romantic links but to the football world, it proves nothing. I can't see many of the World's top players sdaying..."Ooh let's go to City, they won the FA Cup".

Johhny Boy, my question wasn't meant to be contentious, it was purely hypothetical. I'm confident that we'll do both and be the force that you foresee. I was just interested in seeing what people wanted that's all. I'm sure if you asked Fergiescum what his legacy was it would be winning more Championships than the Dippers, for me Europe is great but if, and it's a BIG IF EUFA ban us because of our profligacy then we'd take winning titles, wouldn't we?

Dronny,
Neither was I trying to be contentious, I was merely pointing out the facts of life life to my favourite gay power ranger (plus didgy bermudas). I was amazed that given the efoort and money that has already gone into iour long term project, that so many (following your rules of only one this season) would risk damaging out long term project for a day out and a pot at Wembley.

Piccs said it himself on another thread that by around Tuesday, the buzz of beating the rags in the semi was already wearing off. It wouldn't last that much more if we win the final.

Cup for me,We have beaten them cunts anyway now so the season has been okay for me.
However if we are in the process of a long term plan as you suggest then if we do not get CL footy this year I would think that it is not such a big trajedy and only a hiccup, whereas winning the cup is the start of getting a winning mentality back into the club which to me is more important.
The Europa league is fine for me.
The unbalanced thing that is the CL can cope without us for another year and us without it.

While the silverware would be great, the feel good would disappear within a week or two. The Champions League however would make us a much more attractive club to play for and that in turn would increase our chances of winning silverware in the future.
So it's a no brainer for me - Champions League.
But we are going to get both.
City are coming to get you!

Sorry about this Dronny, and I know it's hyperthetical, but we are in the final and we are in the driving seat for CL qualification so it's very hard for me to revert back as if it's the start of the season. Back then I would've said CL qualification all-day every-day, but now, and being in a strong position, I want both. I can't help it mate, it's within our clutches, a hairs breadth away. I want it and I want it all, now. It's possible, it's realistic and it's so fucking close I can smell it.

Come On City!!!

I'd take champions league qualification. Once we get in, we can bring in more / better players and after that cups will follow as the squad improves and deepens.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.
