Dodgy translated Italiano non-b*ll*x wrt Napoli's trio of "stars" below...if you can understand anything in this then yr probably Italian.

http://bit.ly/krrFXQ

"I hope that there might be some good deal because we would see one of three in Naples to Manchester"
A radio transmission in the CRC "It swells the net" by Raffaele Auriemma spoke Attilio Lombardo, observer of Manchester City, who said: "Cavani, Hamsik and Lavezzi would make the fortune of any club, because they are very strong players, but I do not think Hamsik Cavani that could get away from Naples at the same time.
The Manchester City following a lot of players because it is a company that wants to do well, wants to win and wants to become the most important team in Europe. Napoli has some good players and that is why they are followed. The Naples this summer should be a friendly with Manchester City but I do not know if it will play in Manchester in Dublin. We also followed Sanchez, but it seems that this player is more directed to play an Italian team.
I have never followed Napoli live, because I do not think we need to see play live blues players to understand their characteristics. Palacios is an extraordinary player, and a meeting that also knows how to play football, I've seen him play many times and is a player who we can become in Naples.
The will of the player now in negotiations is essential, Juventus is a team under construction, while the Naples, in the meantime has to play in the Champions League.
Napoli-axis Manchester I hope that there might be some good deal because we would see one of three in Naples to Manchester. "

should i keep going? if i go down a tier add folks like Matt Jarvis, Charlie Adam, Lee Catermole, Bobby Zamora, Sebastian Larsson, Stephen Hunt, Diamanti...all could be really decent bench parts on a team. not kidding.

Of your list

Fabregas - would cost close to if not more then a prem transfer record not to mention wages.
Bale - similar to fabregas. Cost 35 million at least and just isnt worth it for the 5 games he will play/turn up for.
clichy - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Parker - is wank.
assou-ekotto - have you seen him play?. I wouldnt go near ANY spurs player bar modric and he looks scum bound. Probably swap deal for berbaspak which will be the best deal this summer i think. Offloading that pile of wank for an actual good player.

Any striker depends on if tevez leaves or stays, if he stays a new striker would be 4th in the order and have to A) Be willing to work his way up to second (B) Be ok with a good few games on the bench. If he leaves i would only take drogba as anything near a replacement from the prem.

The players in yellow wouldnt be much use beyond the first 3 games in the league/fa cup and we need proper depth to avoid the shit we got ourselves into last season while playing in europa. I've never seen a team so tired and a second team so incapable.

That was fun.

more like funny, and not eff you enn.

again, we don't need a bench of world class 40M superstars, but some people who know how to do a job. i just rattled off a list of folks that i believe know how to do a job we might need doing. Don't be an arrogant tit and think if you aren't a world-beater you have no place at City, because i don't believe that at all. in fact, wasn't that very thing part -- again part but not all of -- of our bench problem last season? Mancini cleared out players he thought weren't going to be comfy and quiet with little to no playing time -- as in Craig to my Bellamy, Ade, etc...additionally he let some youngsters go who could have played some matches as well. Regardless, "tired" is bullshit imho. That was just air cover for in case we fucked it all up.

cheers

Your misunderstanding.

I'm not saying we need a load of world beaters. Im just saying there arent many in the prem that are available to us without a ridonkulous price tag that can do the job we need them to do. We need up and coming young players to try and curb further spending in future and young established prem players are way over rated and way overpriced.

Im thinking in terms of the future of city, players that will one day stand on a field opposite barcelona. We need a few squad players but they have to be good enough to be called into the first team and young enough to have a prospect of improvement and advancing into our first team aswell.

70% of the players in the prem arent good enough to play for us (not being a dick its just true). Then there is 10% that we wouldnt be able to pry from other clubs without a huge amount of money (that we dont want to spend). Then we are left with players that arent quite the best but could maybe do a job. Theres not many in that 20% that will be good enough to help us compete in 3 competitions.

I just think young players from far far away land (anywhere but brazil) would be better for us. I'd take little jack from wenger, rescue young ashley from the scums evil lair, and maybe VdV/modric if possible at a decent price.

i hear you...i guess our transfer dealings with Milner and Lescott would lead you to believe we cannot buy domestic affordably. I don't agree, but it's not illogical. And i agree with your point about foreign kids...we just bought that 17yo from Spain, right? But we need about 2-3 players who can step in and DO a prem job next season i believe. or do some CL or Cup matches. I don't see any foreign kid fitting that bill. a central mid creative type, and a winger minimum needed to be acquired and i think the Prem is the place to buy those guys.

Also, "you're"

Those kind of players are a rarity in the prem. We already have Johnson as a winger and SWP kicking his heels, if we're going to spend money we need real class and that means better than anything we can get in the prem, especially English, if we're not spending money we already have Vlad Weiss. There might be a chance at luring someone like Nasri for reasonable money, and I'd go for a deal like that if it came on the table, but I think we'll struggle to make a good signing from the prem.

Same with centre mid, we're not going to go out and buy someone like Steve Ireland, we have a settled starting team so we need either someone aging who doesn't want to play every week or a kid who's still learning but is ready now for meaningful action. These kind of options do come up for reasonable money.

Rumors has it we are back in for Ibrahimovic, this is then maybe backed up by Milan being in for Drogba all of the sudden and/or Adebayor.

I agree, think it is highly unlikely he is coming here... but rumor has it Milan do not want to pay the agreed fee (24m?) and thus we are in for him. Maybe Milan want to save and think they can get Drogba for 10m instead?

For me is almost annoying this "obsession" that Bob has for his italian league and the players that are there. The Serie A is a good league, but look at what poor performances they had in Europe, especially in the EL. At this moment, the only two teams in Milano are looking good, instead the others are mediocre. The information about the Napoli's players is a huge mistake that we can make. Cavani is the only player that can a good signing, instead Lavezzi and Hamsik...meh. Napoli was one of the teams 'i've watched a lot this season and there is no way those two are City material. The team won 50 % of the games in the last minutes and when it was so important for them to win or score, they cracked. Lavezzi and Hamsik missed the penalties in the Coppa Italia and Lavezzi missed three huge oportunities when they played Villareal, and then lost. When they matter they can't deliver.
I trust Bob's judgement, but as a fact N'zonzi (not of fan) is at the same level as Hamsik and Lavezzi, but way more cheaper and he is a type of player that can make instantly impact.

And as i said before, i think we must follow the lead to Nasri. 90 % He and Arse will separate next year and Scum are on his track. We can beat them, if we will really want him. Imagine a duo with Nasri and Silva.

Nor Drogba neither Adebayor in Italy! AC Milan will begin to pay Ibra to Barca just in these days and is searching only for an offensive midfielder. Axel Witsel from Standard de Liege is actually their favourite option for me!
