Be as it may, you score FA Cup final winner and you are untouchable for me.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Baffled by Yaya criticism. He terrified Swansea last night. His passing is always excellent and he was involved in everything good we did. Some people just want the world and more though don't they? Yeah he didn't score, but so what. On another day he would have. Shrug. The fact that he was making those runs meant every time he got the ball Swansea were on edge and defenders committed themselves to him, leaving space for the likes of Silva and Aguero to take advantage. Yaya's very important to how we play. Top class player.

He's one of those players, will go half an hour without touching the ball then create a goal out of nothing.

Thought AJ and Yaya both played pretty well though Yaya did not have his shooting boots on and was blowing a bit at times.
Wingers are highly dependant on service and when we dont have the ball AJ will tend to be anonymous though I thought he regularly tracked back well. He also created the oportunity for SiIvas shot against the bar as well as being a major part of two of the goals. He wasted little ball and kept the tempo of play up.
Yaya was more anonymous at first in spite of being in central midfield where much of the action was but later he made some big runs subsequently creating space for others by dragging markers all over the place. One of the passes which he played to Dzeko where their keeper made a superb save was exquisite.
My biggest caveat about getting too excited about anyones performance is that it was against Swansea, the lowest of the three teams promoted who although playing some pretty posession in their own half looked pretty light weight by premiership standards, I supect we will meet few weaker premiership teams this season.

Johnson did everything he needed to do on Monday night - had a big impact on 3 goals with some great vision. Yes he will fade in and out of games and his fitness still looks short of a top class player but as an inside right forward/part-time winger to have a direct impact in 3 goals is job done.

Yeah AJ was good. Not amazing, but definitely good. I still think he can do more, and i'm sure he knows that too. But as long as he keeps proving to be effective against the little teams he'll have no problem staying in the squad. If he was crap against Swansea I would have feared for his chances. Still going to be difficult though with the return of Carlos and potential arrival of Nasri to see where he fits into all of this....will he even make the bench??

I dont see why he wouldn't make the bench or even start some games. He is being developed as a player and playing and dealing with stuff is an important art of that. As long as he keeps an attitude that he doesn't expect everything then Mancini is not going to have a problem with him and will continue to play him as much as he can, when he can.
I fail to see any kind of problem at all in terms of AJ and Mancini.
