We just beat Spurs 5-1 away with Tevez and Balotelli unused on the bench. Even if he hadn't fallen out with Mancini, he was still going to be a drain.

Why bother to argue ? All people can do is slag him off by what they think he might have done rather than what he actually did. Balotelli may turn out to be better than him but so far, he isn't, not even close.

I think he's been a superb player for City & I loved watching him. So did many others. He's gone now but I'm right.

I dunno, I wasn't looking for one. He wasn't going to play for us, he's a highly paid aging player with injury and personality problems who we didn't need. It's better for him that he's gone because he can spend the last years of his career playing, it's better for us. I'm happy he's gone, doesn't mean that he didn't contribute.

The Bellamy ship had sailed, any debate has been moot for ages, he's been a City player only in so far as we've been paying (most of) his wages this last year/summer.

eh, theres a reason that Mancini is having him move on and I would bet that its mostly not because of a personal problem between the two. I think SWP is by far the bigger loss for us. No matter how good you can be, if you have the ability to fuck around with the team spirit then move on. While Tevez and Balo can be dumb, its clear that they get along with and are respected by the rest of the team. Can't really say the same for Craig

he left on a free. That doesn't sit right with me, no matter how much I agree that it was better that we get rid at this point.

wages off the books anyway, I hope he took his golf clubs with him.

Only Onuoha and Bridge left in the doghouse now.

How the fuck no-one came in for Onuoha is beyond me, although if Kia has his claws into Ned I can guess.

Bridge is fucking Stupid, but Ned can still do a job for us IMO, Kolo wont be back to full fitness for a while and it only takes a couple of injuries at the back and we are scrambling for decent CB cover

It's not a case of who can do what for us. Bellamy, SWP and Adebayor I thought could have contributed to this season in some small part, but Mancini like Keegan...when you are in the doghouse, the only exit is out of the club.

This time last year I'm sure we were being told that Bellamy wanted to be closer to his family in South Wales??

We are all basing our opinions on watching him play for us over 12 months ago. He did OK at Cardiff, had injuries as usual, started well, but didn't do much later in the season, in a "league" below us, but in reality as a top 4 club, light years away from us.

IF he'd stayed, he would only have made the bench and maybe played cup games. Once his pace goes, he is finished. He served a fantastic purpose during the years of Hughes whimpy dick wank players, some of whom didnt seem to offer any level of passion for the club. Bellers stood out because he did want to be here, and he scored some very important goals.

Its a tough one, but the facts to me seem simple. If he stayed, he would have hardly played, even if he made it up with Mancini. Having him around the club being moody and disruptive would have done no one any good.

Whats strange is that he took a 50% pay cut, despite the poor kids in Sierra Leone..............?

We needed to get him off the wage bill. Thanks for some nice performances although overall he never lived up to the horrible transfer fee and wages we paid.

Generally, if Bellamy wasn't such complete throughout cunt of a person, he could've been one of the greats.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

So that's something to slag him for now is it? He's a greedy cunt because he won't take a pay cut.... oh he did...well he's a cunt for spending money on kids in Sierra Leone when he's only on half the wages then..the cunt. Typical of the absolute shite peddled about Craig Bellamy.

Terrible piece of management by Roberto was the whole Cregg affair.

I can't believe how easily some are willing to slag off someone who was a quality player in City colours.....there is no proof that he made any real mischief at City and the degree to which Mario and Carlos have been indulged after having clearly behaved in a manner that is detrimental to the club is farcical against the relief of Cregg's exile.

In any event, I wish him all the best and I'd give him a great reception if I'm there for his return with the dippers

That's fair enough & we probably don't have a space for him. He would have been a better option than Jo last season but this season we are full of talent so he's off. Why some of our fans have to make up lies about him & belittle his performances at City in order to justify that I've no idea.

I have generally only good feelings towards Craig - being such a long-standing fan I am used to having to get excited / committed / loyal about those players that either show special skills or special determination and I had Craig in the latter bracket.

But in the reality of 2011 I am realising (in a very positive way) that I need to have a different expectation - we are no longer (only these last weeks / months) a team where we are all about 1 or 2 'Roy of the Rovers' types that hold us togther. Mancini has moved us way beyond that through a mixture of gradual development and a focussed pre-seaon and transfers. I can now see why he was demanding his targets in - and in early - we would be even better (if poss) with them working together sooner.

Back to Craig - also part of this new experience is having a manager that is 'iron' in his own style. Yes he has pampered Carlos / Balo - and he has been beyond the pale in term of being ruthless with others - I guess it is all down to his personal view to the player's capability of helping him deliver - Craig apparently was quickly assessed as not being worth the bother - in the eyes of the only person that matters.

Imagine the thoughts of those tasked with selling those - unfortuantely referred as deadwood. Mancini has written off any chance of getting a proper fee - but heh - his view appears to be simply - not my fucking problem - judge me on my decisions.

And in the end Craig would not get into this 2011/12 squad - let alone 1st team in this new Man City - we just have to look beyond the nostalgia - and move forward.

For me - and I am sure many - I am grateful to have this new regime etc - everyone must know that with Mancini it is 'my way or highway' - other managers get praise for that.

Does not mean disrespect to Craig though - good luck and thanks for some good memories.

BTW - have I missed something - has he really taken a cut - or have we subsidised? (I am on hols so have missed most of the posts)

We will have given him a big payoff but we can't subsidise him as it's a permanent transfer.
