He got up straight away after falling over- most of the time. This was good. It can still be better. But it's an improvement.

Exactly , I have not heard anyone comment on how good his goal was and yet Rooney did the same thing last season and the world were wanking about it.

I thought he was very iffy to start with & was worried he was about to go into one of his strops but he got it under control, which is encouraging.

The overhead kick was brilliant for the sheer speed at which it happened. Most people have to line it up & end up hoofing it over the bar or wellying the defender in the face but Mario reacted that fast, nobody moved.

Agree with that....things were not going where he wanted at all and I thought he might start to see his arse!

It was interesting that after he scored and had done his posturing at the Villa fans and had a bit of a celebration with the lads Vinnie was right in his ear as they jogged back....looked to me like it was the captain saying well done but now keep a fucking lid on it you mentalist. Great leadership.

Yep, I noticed that too, Vincent is a good captain and seems to have the respect of his team mates.

Getting there. Starting to contribute more and is looking a lot more in control of his emotions.

Still needs to do the basics better. The cut back from yaya at 0-0 should have been controlled and burried, no need to take it first time.

Good all round performance and these goals will do him the world of good.

Agree, it was class. The last thing you should do as a fan is give a striker shit it will always come back to bite you in the arse.

Rovers fan did it the other week when Samir came on with "You're only here for the money!" Obviously they think Arsenal who haven't won anything for 123 years are more likely to win something than the FA Cup holders.

In your opinion, doug, in a slight change of subject - who are the little groups of pals? Not cliques as such, cos i'm sure there's none of that...but who do you see talking to each other most etc?

For example, I can imagine Hart, Micah and Lescott are dead close.

Mario is a natural joker and he tends to mess about with Yaya at times which shows they got on well.It usually shows just before they get down to the serious training stuff. It's not unusual to see Yaya being a bit mischievous as well.

Little groups... Kolarov,Savic and Dzeko. Nigel with Tevez in the past but not recently, not sure that's a good thing.SWP used to get on with everyone but maybe Lescott especially well. The keepers train a lot away from the main group so it's not so easy to see who they bond best with.Happily I would say there don't seem to be any major cliques as they do seem to be a happy bunch and come out in different pairings/groups from day to day.

I will look closer at this in the next few training sessions.

i'd have been amazed if he started on tuesday, even if he was available. dzeko and aguero will be in.

Why though? Balo's on fire and is a better player than Dzeko imo. How many players could have scored Balo's first goal? He made it look so easy.

The interesting question is imo who will partner Aguero against scum next Sunday? Dzeko or Balotelli. Imo Balotelli has shown in the past few games that he deserves a start there, he's the in form striker of the two.

All in all he is an idiot, but he is our idiot.
I love instead that yesterday when Aj, Milner and Vinnie scored, Balo was the first to congratulate them in his pure style. Knock on the head, pushing, etc. Loved it. Beside that i loved when we scored the lads where congratulating each other for the goal.
It looks like Bob finally made a family in the dressing room.

Well done

As much as I love Balo I wouldn't feel comfortable with him starting against the rags

Know for a fact those cunts would be roughing him up trying to get a reaction

Fair play to him he seems to have settled down a bit maybe he is finally liking chippy teas, full english, the arndale and the odd pint of bitter.
Long way to go with him but the signs are promising.

you might not have noticed - but bobby likes to rotate his strikers. therefore, as above, i'd have been surprised if he started.

Very pleased with his current form and most of all his attitude. I think he is still singled out for bad calls by refs and he hardly gets anything from them.
Good example was the foul near the touchline in the 2nd H which had Bobby wagging his finger at the Ref . Classic from Bobby !
