Hahaha. Am I reading his comments differently to everyone else? I don't see where he's having a dig at anyone, I don't see how he's playing mind-games. Just the standard boring footballer interview fayre presented as a cheeky dig by the Guardian headline and the OP of this thread.

These probably weren't even confident statements, but stock answers to very specific questions. And he says absolutely nothing of any substance.

The funny thing for me is how VDV probably has one of the biggest egos out there. Hes constantly talking back to 'arry about manager's decisions. So he may only be warning us about what he knows best
