But the 1-6 (not 6-1 you notice) was fucking awe inspiring, sent shock waves through the WHOLE of WORLD football, caused me to laugh like a village idiot, and left a big, cheesy, smug grin on my face which still hasn't gone away a fortnight later.

I suppose I do have the advantage of having seen us win things before but either way, it's the 1-6 for me.

You think being 100 years old is an advantage?

Senility must have set in.

If we won it?

Well I'd be very impressed, we can barely get a 5-a-side team together.

The FA Cup win for me because as has been said countless times winning that first pot breeds believe and future successes. The way this season is going seems to confirm the aforementioned.

Cup final for me until we beat either trafford or spuds in a final. I have always struggled to enjoy derbies. Seen too many 2 goal leads eroded. Didn't expect anything in the 5-1 so wasn't nervous but then the 3-3 pissed me off, the Keane winner pissed me off, relaxed when SWP put the 4th in, had no finger nails left after the semi, felt deflated after the community shield and was in shock after the 6-1. I keep watchin the highlights and am waiting for the dvd if they do one.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

as to be the final by a distance - although (maybe surprisingly) the Gillingham game still seems to hold pride of place in my memories and I still watch it every few months.

Anyway, good as the 6 - 1 result was it was against a fading side that remains over-hyped and I expect this to be a regular win in the future (he hopes!!)

I really didn't mean to set up another discussion when I started the poll, but a good point has come out of this.

Me I love the 1-6, I really do believe we won't see that again in my lifetime and that gave me more joy, even though I attended the Wembley win

The real kicker though is that no matter what everyone says it wasn't just another 3 points in the league, it was actually a 6 pointer and possibly the most important this season

If we had lost, which was expected, the scum would be 1 point ahead of us, confidence high, and we would be licking our wounds.

This was 6 points and it may turn out to be the most important result of the season. This could be the game that won us the premiership. We have the confidence even The Shieks money can't buy, that win not only gives us clear blue water between us and the preseason favourites, but it has changed the worlds perception of us, we are now the most feared team in the Premiership.

It was 6 points on the 23rd, but we don't really know how many more that destruction of the scum will deal us as the season goes on

And the 2011/12 league title is a lot more important than the 2010/11 FA cup

Trophies won by beating Utd in a league game - 0

Tophies won, actual silverware after a 35 year drought, by beating Stoke at Wembley - 1

Yes it was a great day when we won at OT but I just double checked and we did in fact only get 3 points for it. Sometime in the season we may lose a game somewhere, and Utd may win on the same weekend - perish the thought but its possible - does this make such a weekend a 6 point game? Nope. Leagues are won over a season, not on one match - 2007/8 we doubled Utd; they won the Prem, and we won the square route of fuck all. Id sacrifice losing to United twice in a season if it meant we went on to win the league at the end of it.

Where we challenging for the title in 2007/8?

United were favourites for the league this year, we are now 6 points better off than if we had lost at the swamp, you don't think that has any relevance?

You checked for a pulse recently?

Ask yourselves this question :

Did I laugh like a demented schoolgirl when that 6th goal went in at the swamp ?

If the answer is "no I didn't" then there's something seriously wrong with you.

We WILL win another trophy soon, it might even be the FA Cup. The chances of us EVER giving the rags a humiliating 1-6 trouncing on their own turf again are very very remote.

That overrated bunch of jobbers?

The only shame this season is that Palace are going to trounch them and we won't get them in the semi-finals so we can do it all over again.

yes but that feeling was nowhere near the joy when Yaya blasted it in. that feeling was nothing like the relief and joy after the final whistle was blown. that feeling can not be compared to the feeling when the trophy was presented to us and lifted in the air by MCFC players and staff

Fair enough and I fully understand why :-)

But the sixth goal of the 1-6 exorcised every last single demon I had inside me about those rag tossers and is a moment I will never forget.
