I don't think anyone is saying that Micah is a better CB than right back. Obviously he's more of a threat bombing down the right. But at the moment I can't see anyone other option unless we get someone in on loan.

It's a question of what we lose as a team with Micah at CB rather than RB. I have faith in Savic provided his injury isn't enough to keep him out midweek.

With Silva, Nasri, Sergio, AJ we shouldn't have to worry about losing out on what Micah will bring attacking wise by moving him from right back for a few matches.

I prefer a path of least resistance from the team's point of view though - change as few variables as possible to get a starting eleven.

I agree with Micah being tried at CB against Liverpool, but have my doubts. If the appeal isn't successful, our biggest problem will be against Spurs.

Personally I see Micah being one of the reasons for Dunne leaving and him having a "bad" season.
When Micah was CB with Dunne, he wasn't intelligent enough to play that position and read the game, leaving Dunney exposed.

In a perfect world, Micah would need Kompany next to him, to give him advice and talk him through being at CB, maybe even Kolo.
Dunney and Lescott aren't great at coaching players (and despite Dunney being our captain at the time) are not leaders.
Hart opens his mouth enough, but will Mancini keep Pantilimon in net for the Carling Cup (I think he should).
Hart might be able to help Micah get his positioning sorted, but I don't think he could sort him for a full 90.

I'm a massive fan of Richards, but he isn't what you would call an intelligent footballer.
Dunne didn't have the pace, but could read the game, knew where to be, how to position himself. Kompany is great at this, how many time is Kompany just stood there and makes a standing tackle as his positioning is spot on.
I don't think Micah can read the game as well as what a great centre back should be able to.

Savic could play CB and win loads of headers, be alert on the ground & not get skinned one v one & get a MOTM award. It would however be completely the opposite to what happened when he played there v Wolves & QPR, where he lost every important header, was skinned several times 1 v 1 & positionally inept (as well as being out paced several times).

There is lots of evidence on video of games both from City & Montenegro, that Savic is borderline a disaster area when played as a CB but not too bad as a right back. If we play him at CB we are taking one enormous gamble, based purely on blind faith & hope rather than the evidence he has so far provided.

Whatever the decision, the thing to do if Vinny is suspended, is to score lots of goals at the other end, otherwise we could have a problem whoever plays there.
