Shit at the back??

What makes you say that? They've got a great defensive record.

Spurs are well in the title race imo, sure they have some tough fixtures. They may fade, then again so might we.

Spurs are irrelevant apart from when we play them. We have to finish above the rags. If we get clear of the rags, Spurs may catch them & come 2nd. If we don't they may catch us & come second but they will not win the Premier League. I'm still not convinced they'll finish 3rd either.

Adebayor earned his money first half, making sure Spurs didn't score. Let's hope he doesn't spoil it 2nd half.

Ade is a good striker. Br he is also a lazy moaning soft cunt.

He isn't kun, Rooney, van persie or even a ba or yakubu for that matter.

I think the reason I dislike him (disliking him pretty much makes him wank in my eyes) was the fucking smiling. Constant smiling. Sends 85 ,inured without managing a decent chance and still smiling. Smiling at defenders who tackle him. Smiling at ref's. Smiling at keepers who save his shots. Hugging defenders who foul him. For some reason it always pissed me off.

I wonder if he smiled as he put his studs into van persie's napper. I would have done.

Say what you like about Adebayor's attitude but (along with Bellamy) I view Mancini's inability to find the same degree of flexibility that he found with Tevez and latterly Balotelli as being one of the biggest failings of his reign so far.

Everyone knows that Ade has got talent....and that his attitude is a bit off key....but to just banish him (and Cregg) and give them both massive points to prove in their new teams' colours was fucking stupid.

I always thought that Ade never got quite back into stuff after the shooting incident. Ican understand why but his head didn'tseem as focussed.
Notsure about the bellers thing tho. I put it down to his dodgy knees and the fact that he was unable to play more than 1 game a week. Would have loved Bellers to stay. We have sometimes needed his drive and energy and he has been a big miss.

Thing is John....we've got spare places in the squad and it just didn't/doesn't make sense to me to have pushed a couple of very talented players out whilst (in Adebayor's case this season and Bellamy/Robinho previously) still subsidising their wages. It's madness.

I know that keeping Ade here as a bit part player and maintaining his "buy in" to the cause and keeping his motivation up would have been extremely challenging but the way he was treated before sending him to Spurs was about as motivational (for Spurs) as you could get. It was terrible management.

I wholly agree about that Ant. I also agree that to send a guy like Ade, already fired up, to one of our rivals could be the worsbiyt of business we have ever done. Should Spurs win the League, assisted by Ade's goals, we would have fucked up big time.

Maybe in hindsight, it would have been better to have given Ade far more time off and placeda cuddlier arm around him at the time of his need. He certainly has come back with a vengeance.....To bite us on the bum????

It's why Mancini finds himself in a tricky place unable to get funds for two or three players that he thinks he needs - it basically comes down to being his own fault.

Roberto's fault? Listen, as soon as i saw Ade with his couldn't be arsed attitude against Chelsea at home in his first season before Roberto joined , i knew he was not going to be good for us. Just wait a little while more until he realises that Spurs aren't going to buy him in the summer. His 'performances' will drop off.

Sorry I meant more injury probe than shit. They've upgraded keepers from years gone by too so perhaps a tad harsh. Don't consider them rock solid though.

just the scum red bastard hater in me I guess but I am not at all unhappy with the Ade situation.

Of course it would have been better if we could have had him in his current form and of course with a totally reformed charcter/attitude meaning that he was happy to play 3rd / 4th striker - but hindsight is even more just bollocks when seen through best outcome glasses!!

Roberto had enough to deal with at the time so he sensibly bit off the challenges he thought necessary and fucked off those that he did not think worth the effort (IMO).

So in reality Ade was not going to be part of CITY - and I am happy for him to be at spuds. Frankly, if we cannot beat spurs to the title we have failed big time anyway. I am more thinking that we will and if ade helps spuds get ahead of the scum even better.

Next season we should improve our squad again and perhaps consider strengthening ths scouse, arse and chelski? (mainly/partially joking)

I think Spurs have a great chance. The main risk for them (other than Twitchy going to jail) is they play a very fast paced game and don't rest too often. They run the risk of tiring by the end of the season.

Where as we play a slow possession based game and end up knackered by Christmas. Who'd have thought?

Quick Q:

Can we sell Adebayor to a club other than Spurs in this window?

I'm pretty sure we don't have a right of recall clause either if it's a long-term deal. We should've packed him off to PSG or some other high-paying club out of the way. Or kept him. I've never had a problem with him and I've always rated him.

Adebayor was sent out to reduce the cost to the club. We could have gotten less sending him abroad. I think he's doing good work for us at the moment. Spurs are fucking up Liverpool's season. If we can't finish ahead of Spurs then we don't deserve the league.

It suits us greatly if the last CL place is being fought over and is alternating because it makes FFP harder on those clubs so they fall further behind. It suits us that Spurs are taking points away from our rivals.

Sure he's a solid player, but we'd have to bend the team to him and that would be too much of a cost.
