As the ball was still close to the incident Webb must have seen it - unless he's going to admit that his attention was elsewhere, it's not as though it happened behind his back. He let play continue, so it follows he thought nothing of it. Webb only stopped the game when it was clear Parker had a head injury. Something that wasn't immediately apparant on his first view of the incident.

I'm not so sure. Remember the Adebayor one from a few seasons back?

He was in the air (because the defender cut out his legs) and his legs were moving as he was coming down. Caught the player in the head as he was in midair. Ref saw the whole thing and ruled play on on the field.

In any case, they went back and looked at it and gave the red retrospectively. He was in the air! How can you control where you are coming down?

Yes, Balo was off balance. But it did look like a stamp. And he gets no leeway from his previous rep. So, yes, this will be a witchhunt. His name isn't Rooney or Gerrard so he is guilty until proven innocent. If they really are out to get us, there is no way he walks.

If it was a stomp (not 100% sure, but enough there to question) then it was just really stupid. As was the Lescott elbow. I'll gladly take 3 games for Mario if they don't do anything with Lescott. Just our luck they'll let Balo go but ping Lescott for 3 when we can't afford to lose anymore defenders.

A bit confused? Mixing Yank owners?

Its the Salford Buccaneers.

Scouse 1 are Red Sox.

Mario tried to do him. End of. People are going to focus on it and those that get paid to make a meal of stuff like this will make a meal of it.

I can't belive how adept some people are at convincing themselves that they did actually see what they wanted to see.

He tried to stamp on Parker's head ffs. Then went on to win the game for us. Why are people so surprised that this is such big news?

Just because my opinion happens to differ from yours doesn't mean I am mad in the heansjknkdciaosds875hpnacsikac.

I think you're wrong. I think he was off-balance enough to not know or care where his foot was going and he was not even looking at Parker.

It is interesting to note that Howard Webb, World Cup final referee, agrees with me and not you though. Let's hope he has the balls to stand by his decisions.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Balo got a yellow for it

Doesn't that mean they can do fuck all?

He got the yellow a few mins earlier for a tackle that was barely a foul.

Nice to see top pundits airing their views fron the BBC website:

QPR skipper Joey Barton on Twitter: "Just seen Bale's goal. Great strike. Seen Balotelli incident, doesn't look great on replay. Those Super Sleuths at FA HQ won't miss that? Will they?"

Good luck in the Championship.

Ive just asked the same question on "the other league games thread" Apparently its due to the fact he didnt put the shirt over his head and only pulled it to the top of his chest.

I don't think he wanted to stamp down on Parker, although it could be seen like that. He was trying to get his balance back imho.

Here's Harry Catnaps view of it.

"It looked like a penalty, I've not seen a replay – but the boy who scored the penalty shouldn't have been on the pitch," Redknapp said. "He kicked Scott Parker in the head. He does it a lot, he backheeled him in the face and cut his head. No one can make excuses that he didn't do it, anyone can see he did do it."

606, and the witch hunt begins.

"Ban him" says Alan Green.

i dont think mario is guilty ... that being said I have absolute confidence that he will get done by the FA. 4 game ban. It will be decided by tuesday.

It's funny how you can see the replay with webb looking directly at it and not calling anything. The decision to send kompany off was not even seen directly at a clear angle, but the FA upheld the decision to stand by the ref. Webb sees it clearly and calls nothing, the FA will take this chance to correct Webb's error in not sending off one of our players.

Agreed but it would help if people on here were not saying the same thing! Some pundit has apparently already quoted that a City forum said Mario stamped on him.

Just listening to 606 Alan green doing his best to gate Mario a ban, first 6 people on were all Londoners such biased coverage. Im sickened by this bullshit outrage if that was Shrek no one would say a fucking word.
I really hope we win his title we deserve it playing not only the team on the pitch but the media as well. I also think we can make anal greens day if we can beat Liverpool on Wednesday. CTID
