That hit you hard, didn't it? What was it, 7/8 months ago? Really sorry mate, hopefully you can move on some day.

As for Kolarov, just can't work the guy out. Seems to have no idea of where he needs to position himself. I mean no idea.

Also, his turn of speed over 5-10 yards is remarkable....he seems to go slower when he tries to speed up.

The acquisition of Savic and Kolarov, for a combined £22 Mil, is starting to look like some of the worst business we've done.

Thing is, we need Savic at the moment due injuries and suspension but there is no need for Kolarov to be getting as much football as he is. Clichy is fit and in form - play him!

The half volley he blasted across the box towards the end at 100 mph high in the air summed him up, just not good enough. I thought we might get away with him left wing back but we cant. I would take Garrido over him which says it all.

Definitely need to sell him back to Serie A and he can take Savic with him. Remember reading a couple of weeks ago that Juventus were rumoured to be interested in signing both Dzeko and Kolarov for a combined £36 million. I would snap their hands off!!

Kolarov has been shite from Day 1 and has been supported by many of this forum. Like Savic...give them time, young, needs to adapt, great left foot, whatever bollocks excuses you can name. Him, Savic, Dzeko are just not good enough. It is as plain as day. If you see honestly believe these players are worthy of a side in search of the title, I'd rather not discuss football with you. They're shit. Paying what, £53m for the 3 of them is grand incompetance. By someone.

When are we likely to see a youth player knocking on the door for a place in the defence ?

There's Boyata and he should be number four centerback behind Vinnie The Skipper, New top quality centerback, Lescott (providing cover for both centerback and leftback where Clichy is first choice and Zabaleta second choice). Kolo is done imo and I'd ship him off as well.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Indeed, but you say that about every full back we've been linked with. Including clichy.

Lets get the boy Lahm in.

The worst thing about Kolarov last night for me, was when he did a complete disappearing act (particularly in the first half). Savic was having a nightmare but was at least continuing to have a go again each time, whereas Kolarov was hiding on the touchline.

That cross at the end was ridiculous as well - if anyone had tried to attack it they would have lost their head.

Cross? Don't kid yourself, that was him having a shot at goal from a ridiculous angle.

One thing is for sure, if you look at all the top clubs in the Prem & their signings over the recent past; signing defenders is a very hit & miss affair.

I thought that. At least if he'd have kept it low there was a chance that any touch would have taken it straight in. You'd have needed Crouch on Samba's back to have got near that.

Haven't liked him whenever I've seen him, but was willing to give him a chance last season. Injured in first game, new league etc etc. Well, he's not got any better. No pace, no positional sense, can't tackle, can occasionally hit a good free kick. He'd be a poor man's Garrido if he hadn't cost about 6 times as much. The choice of back up at left back is him or Bridge. Think I'd rather play with a massive hole there (it's usually there anyway) and play an extra attacker, as at least something might come of that.

We need to get rid to anyone who'll take him ASAP, even if we can't get a replacement in immediately. If Clichy is out, Zab, Barry or Lescott can move there. They're no worse than he is.

I was being kind to him as it was obviously him having a go, but it went out for a throw in.

Yeah, but like I've said million times, I don't like fullbacks who can't really defend. Clichy has so far been better than I expected but he has had his lapses as well.

Problem is, there aren't many defensive fullbacks around. We got two of the best in Micah and Zabaleta.

There aren't many decent defenders around full stop. We have 4 of the best im Micah, Zabba, Lescott & Vinny. I'd like another CB with pace & another LB but imo both on the ball & defensively, the midfield can do a lot more a lot better to help the defenders.
