Would love to announce 1 or 2 big signings on deadline day. BOOOOOOOOOOOOM from nowhere and listen to the other managers squeek about it. You just know they are glad we haven't strengthened even more.

I cannot imagine why anyone would believe we don't need new players. It's absolutely crystal that we do and a fair few that have come in are crap. I'm worried; it's all on the league now and will we have the legs from this group as they stand?

I understand FFP and all that goes with it but having got ourselves in to this position it would be foolish not to strengthen and do all we can to clinch the title. It could come down to real fine margins, let's give ourselves the best possible chance.

This has always been the case imo, but if you look at the spending we have been doing it's been a case of 'talking' about FFP rather than stopping spending. We've spent shitloads & it had to stop/calm down somewhere irrespective of FFP. If the right player(s) are available, I'm pretty sure we will sign them whilst trying to make it look as if we're doing everything we can to comply (which of course we are, apart from spending the odd 100 million).

A big problem may be the squad numbers & the required number of club/homegrown players required & the fact that some of the players we've signed recently are now filling places & taking wages when already proven to be a waste of money.

If it was just Joe, you could say it meant nothing, just a turn of phrase, but the similarity between the two is as if they know something. I recon we're upto something.
