How convenient.

How predictable.

Ultimately, we all saw footage of RVP clearly look behind him and elbow the guy in the chops. We have also seen Mario from all angles which are still inconclusive. It is also debatable as to whether Webb saw the incident as some angles appear to show Webb looking at it and waving the game on.
No matter how you dress it up, Van Persie has got away with smacking Cuellar. Mario was found guilty and banned on less convincing evidence.

Van Persie is fortunate that the ref saw it, but not particularly clearly. Balotelli is unfortunate that the ref didn't see it (and I don't believe he did - he looked away at the crucial moment) although he would have reached the same conclusion as the RVP ref if he had. The "how convenient" comment suggests you believe they are out to get us. Do you not think that if they were out to get us, they would have chosen to charge Lescott, seeing as he is one of our two remaining centre backs, the other one being Savic?

You're either the sort that thinks the world turns and shit happens, or you're the sort that thinks all the bad stuff happens to us (which, coincidentally, a lot of ManU, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Newcastle, Stoke etc fans also believe). There are plenty of decisions that go in our favour (not just the Lescott one) but are ignored, due to the fact that it does not quite fit the agenda that we are being screwed over at every turn.

refs are bent liars and cheats end of.if u#you judge 1 incident through a replay judge them all and anyway its not the ref who bans them its the fa, so surely they can overrule the ref to come to the right decision, which is all were asking for.
kompany wrong
mario debateable
johnson wrong
v persie wrong
cabaye debateable
i didnt see it have another look, banned.
saw it no action, dont have another look.
its about changing the opinion of the ref, and how much pressure asserted to do so.

It is a system that is open to abuse. And it does appear to be used to favour some over others. There are statistics that suggest bigger clubs tend to get more favourable decisions. But as is pointed out, the criteria was amended for City and Thatcher, because in somebody's opinion, "it was so bad we'll just ignore our own rules".
