Not sure what the benefit to Feyenoord is in that deal...

It's against FIFA rules. Regardless whether both sides would do that deal, there's no way to get permission for that.

And he plays for Feyenoord.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Mistaking Feyenoord for Ajax is like mistaking City for the Rags.. dear lord.

Also, he's there until the end of the season and the fans are signing a petition to keep him for another and supposedly Bayern delegates were at the last game keeping an eye on him.

Also, sure the Dutch league isn't always the best to gauge potential, like van Persie who had troubles with van marwijk when he was manager of Feyenoord.

Difference is that all those went to English teams and most (all - Cleverley?) we're in the premier league.

We won't really know how good he is till he gets back. It's a pity we couldn't have got him back in January and then sent him to a premier league team for the rest of the season so he could get used to the difference, but fingers crossed he's got what it takes. Certainly seems to know where the net is.

Just to add a dose of realism to the Guidetti is Messi bandwagon - Samaras and Afonso Alves looked great strikers in the Dutch League.

To add to that dose of realism - has anyone actually seen his hat trick? One just hit him. Another was a penalty and the other a half decent one on one finish. Same for most of his goals this year. Just tap ins usually or penalties. I know that's a skill - goal poachers instinct and that, but gotta wonder if he'd get the same space in this league.

And van Persie didn't look too great himself. Then there's also minor players like Sneijder and van der Vaart amongst others.

If he only got 33% of the goals over here, he'd still be doing well.

Aye...but for a poacher to prosper it relies on us actually crossing a ball. We're hardly experts at that are we! haha

I still think we should let him stay on loan for another season though and come back even better in a year and a half when he's 20(21?)...we don't need him just yet.

And Rude van Horseface. And Ronaldo. And Romario...

Yes, it's only the Dutch League & yes, 6 of those 17 goals were penalties.

But the kid is 19 years old & in his first full top flight season. He's not only scoring a goal a game, assisting (5 so far) & stepping up to the spot, he's basically leading the line on his own there & giving the team a huge lift.

There's nowt wrong with wanting him here. We wouldn't have to pay 20m for starters. Personally, I'm not sure what would be the best for him. Staying another year with Feyenoord would give him a second season with a guaranteed starting place & a familiar environment. The same can't be said about a loan to another Premier League club.

And for every one of them there are also lots of Kezman's and Kalou's as well.

Guidetti isnt really going to want to come back to us to be fourth or fifth striker, which for sure he would be. If he keeps banging them in we can either loan him out again, or get a good fee for him. At the moment he's achieving Bojinov style cult status.

Bojinov didnt really show much at all, being on the sidelines injured for most of his time with us.

There havent been such a talked about up and coming youngster in Sweden since Zlatan. The time with Feynoord are doing him a world of good. Being picked for the national side is just a matter of time i think.

I think he would relish the thought of coming back to city and have another go; Next season that is. Having another year loaned out wouldnt be a bad idea either.

Having him come through all the way, would be another success story to our brill academy
