I'm not sure he'd make that great a contribution from the sidelines?

Surprised no-one has mentioned Gaz Baz?

Barry would get my vote. Problem is people who dont watch city regular don't see all the work he puts in off the ball and the constant talking he does on the pitch.

If they want to give it someone who should be an England regular for future and not a goal keeper the Richards is the perfect man, but for some reason he can't even get in squad????

Surprised and baffled over the move, either dont do anythig yet or kick him out of the team. surely removing the band suggests he is being punished for something, but still in the team so that can only signal that whatever he is being punished for is not THAT bad a thing...

What a halfass move, made the FA loon stupid. Kick him out or wait to punish. Again it seems they make their move based on short term gain by having him play even though he clearly is being looked upon as not worthy by FA.

As for captaincy, seems cursed but trust our guys to be up to the task, they seem like such nice guys. IMO Hart is the best choice, will always play and is one for the long haul.

Given the list of senior players who are complete dicks I think Hart is a good shout.

He is young so it will be a long term thing. I doubt Barry would even make 2014.

He is a model pro. He is world class. He is a winner.

I think they would be daft to look elsewhere. Sure someone like Gerrard maybe a better bet short term but he is a born loser in an England jersey.

Please God NO!!!!
Hart as England captain....NEVER!!!!!

The moment anyone gets that job they are under the media spotlight. At present Joe is almost anonymous. He has a good reputation as a great keeper and is under little or no pressure.
Can you imagine what would happen to his life? The media lowlife would be limboing under his bedroom door to check the colour of his undercruds.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT
