What stuff would that be that he could win with Arsenal?
A decent contract at a big club?

Why not?
If he gets stuck in; gives 100%; tackles; scores goals; and gets pissed off if he gets beat, what's wrong with that?
Why isn't that "good enough"?
Dubciteh wrote:Not sure why he is being compared to davies as Dempesy only plays right up front when there stuck and usually plays behind the striker or the side. He is more of a Tim Cahill than a kevin davies. i do like him though great attitude and a good player who should be playing higher up the league. Not sure how he would do at a top team where he is rotated though.

It was me who brought up the comparison, which didn't have anything to do with playing style or position.
I like Dempsey; I think he is a quality player for a mid-table team. I'm also a fan of Davies (probably one of the few on here) or at least the player he was a couple of seasons ago. What I do think they have in common is that they are relegation fodder / mid-table obscurity superstars. You have a bunch of players who are really good footballers and pivotal for their teams, but who just fall short of being top club material. Dempsey and Davies are two, Cahill is another one. I always thought Arteta was a part of that club as well, along with Benayoun. Artea might prove me wrong, but Yossi - who I though was superb at West Ham, has not preformed too well at either Liverpool and Chelsea. Other players in this category: Nolan from a few years ago, Gamst/Pedersen in his prime, etc.

He'd be a great squad player to have.

Why? At what point do you expect us to be fighting relegation?
bobby brows wrote:I'm a massive van of Clint Dempsey, think he's good enough to be in our squad but he was very poor today.
I know Zamora was having problems with Jol, and apparently Dembele's days are numbered but Fulham looked like a team waiting for the manager to be sacked. Think their very lucky QPR, Blackburn and Wigan are so poor and they at least win their home games,
