He went in full hammer that lad. An absolute trooper, great leader, and a bit of a ball player on the sly! I doff my cap to anyone who gets sent off for licking an opposing player's nose. Legend.

No 'probably' about it.

Imo, we owe Andy Morrison for everything we have now. Without his influence, we would be like Leeds are now; a great club who blew it.

No matter what we win in the future, I will never feel like I did when Paul Dickov scored that second goal. It's a different world.

Hardest player I've ever seen is Tiatto. I think he would have squared up to Tyson in his prime to be honest.

might sound odd but if we are to win the league i dont think id celebrate or go as mad as when dickov scored. maybe if it literally came down to the derby game and we scored in the last minute.

but im not sure i'll ever see a goal as important as the dickov one

This was my first ever City game, so it brings back a lot of memories. When Horlock scored i was so angry, i was convinced that typical City will do just that, score one and then lose the game. Get our hopes high and then bring us back to normal and when Dickov scored i was shocked, i couldn't believe. And at the pen, i was telling the sky if we win this i promise i will get better grades in school and other crazy stuff. That was one hell of a day.
Too bad that the game isn't available to buy on a dvd, just this highlight version of youtube.

I remember being on the tube afterwards. Everyone was emotionally exhausted and the singing died down until we stopped at a station. The doors opened and a manc voice shouted "change here for Gillingham" and the party started again! Remember seeing other pissed up blues all over London till late into the night!

It could be topped by this:
CL semis- we give Barcelona and messi a masterclass in football. Final is against the rags at wembley. They go 3-0 up thanks to dubious decisions and a sending off and we come back with a 10 man performance to silence all critics forever, balotelli scoring an injury time winner with an overhead bicycle kick into the top corner.

I think it's so much easier emotionally challenging for the top than it is escaping from the bottom. If we miss the title for instance, I'll be disappointed of course but I'll just assume we go for it again next season & the season after & the season after. Going through all that shit in the 3rd division only to lose to Gillingham, then having to do it all again the next season, with no guarantee of any improvement, was just heartbreaking: then suddenly we won!

A fun day no doubt about it. I woke up about 8am on Watford train station. To this day I still have no recollection of what/where I did/went after staggering out of Wembley ... oh dear

Just watched it, marvellous memories. Couldn't remember Dickov missing his pen, hit inside of both posts. Richard Eghill with a great pen in off the bar, well done him he took so much stick off us.

Nicky Weaver finally caught in his celebration by Andy Morrison who hauls him down! Brilliant.

I really can't believe that Nicky Weaver was 18 at that time, well he just turned 19.

I was the manager of a well known tourist establishment on the west coast of Ireland at the time and took the day off to watch the match in the local pub. 'That game' was one of, if not the, most deeply emotional games of football I have ever watched in forty years of supporting City. The problem I had that day was I got so fucking unbelievably drunk and according to eyewitness reports ( for I still have zero recollection of what happened) when I was leaving the pub I walked in a straight line from the end of the bar to the door, unfortunately that meant that all the American, German and English people sitting at their tables in that straight line were scattered as I walked/crawled over tables, chairs, pints, handbags etc. I would have been killed if the bar owner had not made excuses for me. The problem was the following day, when guests ignored me or were staring and pointing, it was then that I realised many of them were staying in the hotel. Basil Fawlty take a bow.
Hoping our new rollercoaster gives us the thrill of our lives.
