In isolation not an issue, but if he was late for training then thats just the same as you or I turning up late to work. If you are expected to be somewhere at a particular time you should be there. If you are late, you apologise, 'fess up and everyone moves on.

For a footballer though, it's a bit different when some cunt is following him around taking photos of your every move - the newspapers can make non-issues into big ones.

In this article, how many quotes does the "journo" provide of Mancini? None. When mancini is pissed at Balotelli he makes it clear and he says it in public. We will soon see who takes the pitch today, because I don't expect Mancini to cut off his nose despite his face, and this "indiscretion" gives him leverage to get a top performance out of Mario if picked.

but this whole thing about him being late.....he wasn't really late though as he seems to come out for training on Friday with the rest of the squad?

Even if he was....has none of you ever been late for work. And if you were late, once, were there massive consequences? No...thought not

i once got fired for being late to work...oh, wait...check that...that never happened.

luckily you and i aren't footballers at the highest level ant...we'd be smashing it up all night, putting a shift in the next day, kissing babies for a living, and still make the team look good in the papers. Throwback style.

i believe we're raising a generation of pussies...worldwide phenomena. in fact, the prestige is...worldwide. worldwide prestige.

If I was David Silva & I felt like staying out late, then I'd just do it, if Mario was allowed to. Then if I was Joe Hart, Jolean Lescott, Gareth Barry & Adam Johnson & I felt like going on the piss once in a while, well if Silva & Mario could get away with staying out late & arriving late for training, I'm sure if we just this once go & get shitfaced, the boss won't mind. It's not as if we keep breaikng the rules like Mario is it ? And if he bollocks us & not them= unfair. Spilit dressing room. Someone goes to the newspapers. Etc etc.

Simple solution: do the fucking job we pay you fortunes to do, under the conditions set out by your employer, then when you have time off from City. stay out late & bollocks to the Italian national team.

Precisely. Employer sets rules - if you don't like them, find another job. I'm at risk of a random drug test at any time, so guess what I don't do.

Whether you love him or loathe him, Mario has to understand that he has a job to do. We are not meandering around in midtable obscurity, we are at the sharp end of a Prem title race.
True winners view success by 1%s, each little 1% adding to the next 1% and ultimately giving success. He has been told, he knows what is acceptable and he knows what his responsibilities are.
If this was Tevez or Dzeko, we would be goingmad at them.
Ballo is great cabaret but sadly for him, weare not a dancing troupe.

Good as he is, Kick his arse hard and if he cxontinues to fuck up...get rid.

I wasn't overly impressed with his decision making today, but by God I was well impressed with his attitude.

Clear cut penalty and everyone knew it except for the king of corruption. And Balo just got on with it.

Well impressed.

That was my first choice.

Though Mario was great today and unlucky not to get a goal with the earlier shots. If he's doing it on the pitch, I'm less bothered about what happens off it. Mancini just needs to hand out whatever punishment is necessary by the rules he's laid down and then role on Thursday.

The problems we are now having with young Mario need to be dealt with. They could have major implications for the future.

If you think what is going on now is important, consider what we will feel in a short time when we have left the rags behind and we are trying to seriously challenge the likes of Real, Barca, Bayern or whichever team has clawed to the top.

There will be absolutely no room for any mistakes at that level. Every player will have to be giving 100% and there will be no room for any player that doesn't.

If Mario is to become what we hope he will, he has to set his stall out now.

You could see Yaya today having very little time for him, Mario has to respect RM, if not RM will lose the respect of others in the squad.

Yeah John mate, I read and digested....I know exactly what you're saying.

Fining him is absolutely the right thing to do. What I was objecting to was people on here, and City fans in general just buying into the hysteria that the rag-loving media were/are trying to drum up....the only purpose of which is to try to destablise our push for the title.

I honestly couldn't give a fuck if he was in a strip club til 3am, I'm not all that sure that Mancini could either but they all know that he has to be seen to crack down for whatever reason (either to appear fair internally or shut the cunty media arsewipes up).

On another day he could've scored four or five and he didn't not score due to his X in the City escapade....it was just one of those days when a combination of keeper and woodwork kept him out. He played well IMO and that's all I care about
