So you say that Silvas' previous form is relevant, therefore agreeing with what I've said and then make some daft remark about a former player, making out that's my analogy? Surely if it was my analogy I would've been defending Dzeko and saying it could be worse we could still have Conlon?
You've also conveniently picked 2 lines out of 8 from my original post to base your argument on, whilst now saying that "having a go in the ground" is counter productive, which was the whole point of my original post.
Your first and last lines are about people criticising players from the stands or criticising Silva despite his good start to the season. As I said and have always said, there is no point criticising the team during a game or even booing at the end.
My original point was that people referring back to games which happened 10, 20, 30 years or more ago is irrelevant. From the late sixties we were good for a decade or so. But it has no bearing on now. Similarly, we've ranged from being average to bloody awful in the time since. The only thing that has done is created a mindset for the fans, but with the change in owners, managers and players it has no effect on how the team play.
I'm always happy to see ex-players back at the stadium be they people I never saw play (Trautnan, Bell etc) or players from our bad periods (Rosler, Dickov). It's important to remember where we've been if we want to try and avoid some of the arrogance that comes with success. But just because we were good, bad or indifferent in the past means nothing to the current team and we don't therefore need to accept bad performances just because we've known worse.
