Being the richest club in football won us the cup. He wouldn't have won it with mid-table resources.

That's a daft statement. So if we win the league over the coming years then I presume that whoever our manager may be will take no credit for that either, seeing as we're the richest club in football?

Would love to see someone like Rogers or Chris hughton get a shot. But no doubt the board will make the obvious choice and go with Mou or Pep.

Did Fergie have a squad like the one we have in those 6 years. Did he have shitloads of money to spend as Mancini has had ? I think not.
Mancini had his chance and he blew it away. As I said in another post the man has no guts and he proved it today without any shadow of a doubt.
Jose or anyone else (Hiddink / Guardiola ?) would be most welcome by me.

Whatever we want, after today, if Mourinho or Guardiola show an interest in the City job, I think it's 90% certain that Bob is gone.

There's absolutely no point in admirers backing him for the sake of it today. Whatever the faults of the players, Bob made an obvious, glaring horrendous fuck up of a job today & Sheikh Mansour & Khaldoon will know that. If they don't, they will have football savvy advisors who will tell them.

If you pulled any professional manager to one side & asked him or her how we should have approached that at 0-0 with 30 mins to go, you won't find one single person who would have handled it the way Mancini did.

Unless he's already agreed a new deal on the quiet, he's very vulnerable now. We'd better play well in most other games or he'll be out even if those two won't come.

I think you'll find that for the time he had massive amounts to spend. If it wasn't for one exceptional youth team all coming through at the same time then he would have been done years ago.

Do you think he'd have won it without the money?

Anyone who wins the league has had a lot of money to spend. Never been won by a poor club in my lifetime and with CL and PL money, never will be. Cups can be won by anyone with a bit of luck. How many championship sides have made the finals in the last few years?

Ferguson had similar resouces to us & it took him years to do anything. However, on a day like today, he would have had 2 wingers,a shitload of strikers & everyone including the goalkeeper in Arsenal's penalty area.

If someone can explain to me a good reason why we didn't, they can perhaps reaffirm my faith in Mancini.

I'm with you on this. Tevez or Dzeko should have been on much earlier. Mancini said Balo should have been sent off after 10. He's right but he has the chance to take him off whenever he wanted and left him on to be sent off.

Nay man, get your story straight. Firstly you said that being the richest club in football won us the cup and that did I think we'd have won it without the money, but then go on to say that any club can win a cup with a bit of luck? So in that case the money is irrelevant isn't it?

The fact remains that he is the manager that brought me/us our first proper trophy in my lifetime and I see no reason to lessen that achievement.

wasn't taggarts team of shithouses the most expensive team in the world (£10m+) when they shipped 5 at our place?

Hughes got us to a semi final (which he didn't get chance to manage), so cups are easier than the League. Anyone can win a cup with luck - our luck was having the money to spend an absolute fortune. Do you really think one FA cup is a reasonable return for that?

In all seriousness I think we need to ignore money when it comes to managers cos its what clubs are willing to pay or accept! It should be looked at as to who would a manager bring in! I think Mancini has bought poorly. Nasri, Kolorov, Dzeko, to an extent Mario. but i will say i'm not sure how much Mancini has had an influence on transfers!

Mourinho's signings are mostly by the club or at the request of his agent. Pepe has only really bought one player Ibrahimovich! which at £50m + Eto'o is the most expensive transfer in the world in my eyes.

Brendan Rogers wouldn't be the right man for us.2

I think with winning the trophy last year and the exceptional start to this season, our hopes were high and rightly so. We were dreamland and could finally give the rags the two finger salute we can not wait to give them.
But since Christmas, when the cracks began to appear and the red scum started to gain momentum, Mancini had no idea how to handle it all. The expectation + managing the squad + tactical nounce, unfortunately dwindled away. Bad choices were made, big mistakes occurred and today like so many have mentioned, he doesn't keep his cool, instead he looks a prick by telling players they won't play again and we will sell them. In ballotelli's case he deserves it the prick, but it shows how Mancini can't cope with pressure or players.

Look how he managed Bellers and Adi. On a financial footing, thats 14mil lost for Bellers and probably 15mil on Adi assuming spuds stump up 10mil for him. Letting Bellers go pissed me off, but letting him go for fuck all really pissed me off........and then there's the tevez debate...........look at Zabs sat next to Tevez in Munich, no annoyed reaction from Zabs aimed at Tevez, I'm now thinking Mancini fucked it there too..........And are the players really responding to RM now or like a lot of peeps are saying.....RM has lost most of the dressing room?
