He basically asked why Arsenal moved from Highbury to increase revenue. charging everyone fortunes, in order to compete with the Man Utd's of the world, if they're not actually going to spend money. Why not just stay at highbury, where they were all happy.
Pretty good point if you ask me.
I sometimes get the impression that its entirely Wenger's decision re the lack of spending.
hm yeah but they did go into alot of debt building the stadium didnt they and im sure there making sure all there money goes towards the costs of the stadium once that is paid off, they can spend the money generated on players? this all depends on wether arsenal stay a top club in the league i suppose. good football puts bums on seats.

You're not the 1st mate and I'm sure there are many others.

Me too. I do agree he's a cnut, but what a talent.

We have 4 top strikers already and should be looking at a winger and a CB to support Vinny and Lescott. Apart from that, I don't think we need to bring much else in (assuming none of the main squad leave).
IF, for some reason, we are in for Van Persie, then we should offer no more than £10m. He's in the last year of his contract and we really need to be reducing the amount we spend in transfer fees. We completely overpaid for Nasri last year, who also just had 1 year left, and I'd hate to see us pay a similar fee again. No other club would pay such high fees, and now we are the Champions we need to try and lose the 'City premium' we've been paying in the transfer market.
At least with Nasri he was only 23.
I would seriously be surprised if we sign this guy. I just don't see the logic in it. What are we going to do, shift him to the left wing to leave Aguero in the middle? I just don't see where this fits, unless we are paying pennies for him.

He also has an injury prone track record, is going to turn 29 before the new season starts and, more importantly, he tend to play as a stand alone striker who need the whole team to revolve around him. I'm not saying he's not a superb striker, because he's, but I'd very very much prefer to stick with our 4 existing strikers... unless Herman.... who is always a potential timebomb...
also, there is no doubts in my mind that our own super-Bosnian will fully show to be a top draw for us before getting 29.
once said that, because next term we are gonna face a very demanding and ambitious season, if he can be hired for a bargain (saying not the 20m figures that are talking about), he commits to serve the team instead of looking for a nr.1 striker position, why not?
I'm with Beefy, all considered, tho.
definitely not a priority on our market strategy, imo.

Pretty much spot on. Feels strange to not want to sign the current Golden Boot, but with FFP and the strikers we already have, I don't think this is top priority.
Piers Morgan's twitter tantrum is great, too:
Piers Morgan @piersmorgan
I don't blame @Persie_Official for this (though unforgivable if he goes to City) - I blame #Arsenal board and Wenger. Not enough ambition
If you go to Manchester City @Persie_Official - you'll be dead to me. DEAD.
Piers Morgan @piersmorgan
Why would @Persie_Official see the signing of Giroud, who can't even make a weak French team, as 'progress' ? #Arsenal
GNev2: @piersmorgan the Tabloid reactive mentality rears its head in you at moments like this! Relax you're in LA and Arsenal are a well run club!
@GNev2 Mate, you're not even the best football team in Manchester. Pipe down.
