lopes looks physically fairly strong for a 16 year old ... not that he is very tall, but he is not slight. Rekik looks like he could develop into a beast in D.

I'd sell Kolarov and give Rekik a chance as a back up to Clichy.

He could be big for us in years to come, looked good a year ago at 16, looks even better now!

It amazes me that some folk are managing to single out AJ when he has been as good & as bad as literally everyone else. Every single player has fucked up equally as badly, some worse. Judge him with the same criteria as the other players.

I was thinking this too. It's mental. Everyone has been really really average, which you can expect really, and its mental how some people are just so overly critical.

agree with Ted ... let's wait until at least the third game before string up AJ.

Ted...I know you really rate him but I, and others, just really don't

Talent-wise there is no question he is worth the trouble....it's effort and application, or the lack thereof, that has taken me past the end of my tolerance with AJ

I'd love Adam Johnson to turn it around and have a storming season. However, I don't think that is about to happen...I'd love to be proven wrong though

I rate what he can do, rather than what he does, but there's no way he has been any worse in that half than Tevez for instance. It's like people are warming up to get on his case for the season.

He looks much older than 16, but if he is, he looks like a good prospect. I'm always impressed with Rekik whenever I've seen him play. Looks very composed and comfortable on the ball and to me looks ready to take over from Lescott immediately !
Al Helal are playing some decent football and had some chance but their finishing is poor. Assistant refs called 2 wrong offside decisions against us and one against Helal. Sacpuzzi and AJ were in with good shooting positions.
Good to see City back in action but its very clearly most players are well short of full fitness and are taking it easy. Let's see what changes are made for the 2nd half.

Both kids look very good to me.

With Rekik, I wonder if he will be good enough aerially to be a Prem CB but one thing he will be is a player, in some position. I could imagine him doing Nige's job in his sleep. He is a talent.

Im now living in Guatemala and Ive lost track of time and space..missed the first half due to this............having said that , it would seem that it was probably best to miss it.

Has Lescott played shite?

Pre-season training only started a week ago and they've all been equally average for this reason. Add to that, Johnno's confidence is a bit low due to England stuff and he hasn't started a match or months. I suspect he will get a lot better.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.
