is that the Bale that signed a new 4 year deal on 27th June?

I think i read it in Mirror yesterday or Daily Mail and they said he said : "Let me go or i won't extend my contract and i will leave free next summer"
Don't know if he really signed it on 27th june or it was just bollox. Rather have him than RVP.

Spurs OS says he's contracted until 2015.

Oh, then he can fuck off. Next please..

Seems like a classic Mancini signing.

1) mid 20's
2) Midfielder
3) Versatile

And we do need another creative guy in the midfield. Prem tested.. can't see why not? Sure if he is overprice we back off as usual, but not even in for him, not even trying seems weird.

AVB says no less than 35m for luka.

Flatters to deceive imo.

Knocks the ball around nicely but on the creative front, he's actually not that much better than Gareth Barry, the difference being; Barry gets the ball back when we lose it.

i believe that Modric's hair is half his transfer value at 35M. I'd buy him for 17M for sure though, and make him get a haircut like mine.

cheers

Read my post again carefully, look up the stats for goals & assists last season, put them on here. If I'm wrong, I bow to your knowledge & accept your snotty 'my balls haven't dropped yet' attitude.

If however I am right, then kiss my fucking arse, in public.

I await your reply with interest.

I'm with you on this one.

Is it possible to think someone is decent yet completely overrated at the same time? I don't think he's shit or anything, but what's his supposed outstanding attribute that makes him a 35m player?

Can anyone name it? Jesus we got yaya for 10m less than that.

Barry was superb last season, and at his age, with the type of game he plays, we should be able to get at least another 2 very good seasons out of him (hoepfully more). He isn't quick (as we all know) but he reads the game fantastically well. There's a reason he's a guaranteed starter every week for Mancini.

Regarding Modric - he definitely isn't worth 35m. If you're paying that sort of money, you want a player who is basically the best in the world in his position and Modric, quite frankly, isn't. I doubt you'll even find a Spurs fan who believes he is worth that much, but Levy is a tough businessman and if he believes Real Madrid are interested, who historically pay big transfer fees, then he is going to do all he can to maximise the fee.

Modric would be great to have in the squad, but that's it as far as I'm concerned. If he played for us, Silva, Nasri, Yaya & probably even Adam Johnson in ten games, would end the season as the main creative forces in the team. Modric would be the bloke who knocks the ball around nicely & keeps it, then gives it to them to create stuff, but he doesn't then make game saving interceptions at the other end, which Barry (& Nige) do.

If he played for the rags, he would improve them but Scholes & Giggs would still create more. That's the kind of player Modric is.

Maybe he isn't the best midfielder in the world & maybe he isn't worth 35m, but you underrate him quite a bit, especially on the defensive side. 17m is a laughable price in this market, 25-30m would be fair I guess, since he's 26 years old, has 4 years left on his contract & Spurs don't need to sell. Nasri went for 25m with one year left.

Some numbers:

Compared to:

http://www.whoscored.com/Players/188/
http://www.whoscored.com/Players/13298/
http://www.whoscored.com/Players/14102/

He'd certainly push for a starting place here, although Yaya is the one playing in his position, so it'd be a matter of adjusting the formation slightly. He's quite versatile tho & if he played in Nasri's position for City, he'd have similar numbers. Adam Johnson has a better end product, but everything else is lacking, so it's not worth comparing the two.

NASRI YAYA SILVA
BARRY MODRIC

AGUERO TEVEZ
MODRIC SILVA
BARRY YAYA

AGUERO TEVEZ
NASRI SILVA
BARRY MODRIC[/center]

Last one looks quite appealing for the ACON period.

Should he join Madrid, I'd wager he'll double his creative output in half the minutes. That's what playing in a top team will do for you. Look at David Silva's assists for Valencia or Ozil's assists in the Bundesliga compared to their current numbers.

Exactly. Now look at Barry's numbers in a championship winning side. I rest my case, Modric in a heart beat. N well said btw.
