AJ leaving

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I agree BUT thing with Silva is about being overworked. HE NEEDS REST. The talent, the skill, the hunger.... they are all there. He's just so perennially exhausted that he can't really do it all the time. That's why signing someone who could give him a breather would've been so essential.

The issues with AJ are more about his relaxed approach and lack of hunger. And despite being brilliantly talented, he is not in the same league as Silva. Very few people on this planet are.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

If we'd play AJ on the left wing we'd see a much different player.

He has stalled here, if losing him means winning more trophies then so be it.

It reminds me very much of SWP's 2nd coming. Flashes of brilliance, but at our level it needs to be constant brilliance.

I described him to a Liverpool supporting mate as a great "Match of the Day" player. You watch some of his monents and think "Wow!!", you watch 90mins - and you don't.

That's the 'solution' Mancini mentions (Sinclair).

We wont be loaning AJ out if we have any chance to sell him. He just isn't up to it.

Will make a fantastic signing for sunderland. i will be sad to see him go personally. and i certainly dont think sinclair is an adequate replacement.

PHEW!
I was worried I was the only one who thought that. Sure he has pace and scores goals every now and then + he is English but no improvement on AJ imo.

He hasn't been given a chance at city whatsoever, the only time he was given a chance was when he first arrive and he was brilliant until he got that injury.
Ever since then he's been in and out like a yo-yo, and look at that performance he did for England vrs Italy?
Another waist of money player who never got a chance.
Sinclair he was very good last season but he's the exact same type of player as aj.

He's had plenty of chances, but hasn't evolved his game as much as Mancini demands. I thought he was showing signs of mucking in defensively during parts of last season but it just doesn't come naturally to him, so there's always the danger that he will switch off for that area of his game.

A long time ago in a parallel universe the BBC had a reasonable Man City Forum. Then the PC brigade got hold of it and the whole thing went to pot. Now just about the best they can do is have the facility to comment on stories. Some of the comments on the Adam Johnson story have to be read to be believed...Not so much daily bollox as Jokes and General Funnies!

"He's poor defensively, true. But he can pass like David Beckham as well as dribble at times like George Best."

"I wonder if the people who comment here actually watch this guy play. this guys is better than most wingers in the game, he doesnt even need to run cos he can dribble past defenders wit ease, his passes are great, scores from within and outside the box.... what else cud u ask for, city keeps him on the bench all the time and blames him for not being good enof, same they did with adebayor"

"Just in case any prospective buyers of Johnson see this column, having watched him for the last several years in nearly every game and analyzed his performance on video, I'll just tell it like it is one last time. Adam Johnson is potentially the best British winger since G Best. But it requires a supportive manager who believes in him and will give him freedom. He didn't get that at City!"

"Will they be paying his wages too? If so send him to Sevilla please" Nice!

Think it's already been summed up for me in this thread somewhere! Has moments of brilliance but just moments and doesnt give enough for a full ninety minutes to get regular starts / sub apps. Am a bit gutted for the lad but he's not really going to imporve much more than the level he his at but could see him shining at a lower table team such as s'land.

Good luck to him and hope we get a decent return.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

What we need is to find a manager with about £50m who believes that load!

It seems Mancini really wants to keep him, but AJ wants out. I mean he signed an extension not too long ago, and you would expect him to stay and play a major role. He adds another dimension to the team, and he brings that spark when he comes off the bench, but lately he hasn't been constant enough. I would be more than happy if he ends up going to Sunderland, I think it would a better option rather than selling him to Liverpool or Spurs.

He would be a great signing. But, I don't think he's a realistic target (so late in the window).
