Gutted in Marbella at my sis in laws wedding.Wanted to go to this fixture. Will do Ajax away as I have been to Germany 3 times in thelast 6 yrs to watch us and not seen us win...yes I take full responsibility for Hamburg Schalke and Bayern so Dortmund I am not going to.

I think Bob have covated this tie since he joined the blue Revolution.
I fully expect the very best of him in these two games. I just pray that Kun will be fit again in time for the Barnabeu, and sadly we will be missing my Beloved GazBaz ( too difficult that he might be match fit so soon) and with Nigel gifted out for 3 filthy millions, I just hope in a miracle for tomorrow. It will hardly happen, though.

With a few players with a history against Real, I'm sure they'll want to win this game. Zabaleta, Yaya, Silva and Aguero will be looking forward to this tie.

Myself? I'm looking forward to it. Irrespective of how people feel about the CL, you want to play against teams like Real. Also, Real are so the Rags of Spain.

We are the Champions of England. Probably the best league in the world. They will fear us.

Bunch of earthquakes in the Canary Islands. Not sure where Silva's family resides, still David won't be happy.

I've kept my opinions to myself on this board for a long time now preferring only the occasional joke or repost, but i'll be pretty miffed if he doesn't start Edin tomorrow. His cool head and experience in big games is needed. Mario needs to feel hungry and come on for the last 15 mins.

Is Sergio not gonna feature? I think Tevez is key tomorrow.

I just wonder if this is the game where we step-up a peg or two?

After last years win I am absolutely positive that every one of those players are still emotionally damaged, I'm pretty sure I am. Maybe this game is where it begins to kick back in that there are teams out there that we have to start playing. This may just kick start our season, regardless of the score.

PS. OP. You may as well make this 3 stars, or a Mod maybe?

Slightly off topic...ish...

Will anybody be watching at any pubs down near the ground? I know m4e said he was heading down to Mary D's for it and a few said they'd join.

Would be good to have a few beers if anyone's in.

For what it's worth, we're going to win 5-0. Tevez brace and a second half Lescott hatrick.

Nothing to fear here. The league's not been great but this is where we step it up. Come on City!!!

The missus (TM) on the phone tonight to the estate agent (EA) who is acting for us:

EA: Hi TM, Great news, we have 3 people who want to come and view your property

TM: Hi EA, thats great, I didnt think it was being advertised until tomorrow?

EA: It isn't, but we sent an advance to our mailing list at 5.00 tonight and had 3 immediate responses

TM: Fantastic.....When do they want to come and view?

EA: Tomorrow

TM: Tomorrow?

EA: Yes, tomorrow

TM: During the day?

EA: No, I think I can show them all round between seven & nine if thats ok? One couple really like the area & the property is just what they are looking for. They want to come over from Sheffield tomorrow night

TM: (without prompting) "I'm really sorry, but we cant do it"

EA: (disappointed) Its a really positive response to the email, I'm sorry if its short notice but i;d appreciate your help with this , I think it might result in an offer, we have had them on the books for a while & I think they are really ready to move.

TM: IT'S REAL MADRID AWAY TOMORROW

I think my work is almost done :)

I'm surprised there are so few excited posts on here! Is this not the pinnacle? (I know its not the final, but come on...)

I recall sitting at Maine rd on a wednesday night circa March 99 from the corner of the Kippax. We drew 1-1 with Portsmouth (I think) while the rags won 4-0 at home to Porto. A very rare night that we both played at home on the same night.

We were that far behind them

Fast forward to today (or tomorrow) and we are on the same stage, it is staggering

Whatever happens make sure you enjoy it. I know I will.

My second estate agent win in the same day, which prompted me to post in the first place:

EA: Hi TM, sorry to bother you again, the couple from Sheffield have just phoned again to apologise that they couldnt make it tomorrow after all

TM: OK

EA: I passed on your message & Mrs X was very disappointed. It was funny as she spoke to her husband to convey the message, & he responded with thanks, & expressed his thanks to TM for the reminder of the game. (He thought it was on weds)

On the grounds that Kun is akin to God in my head, and given his Athletico record against Real, i had a brief fantasy (after the above call) & came upon the formation below, which I would love to see tomorrow.

Comments on lineup below:

Maicon, only because of Micah / Zabba injuries
Yaya, more in a 3 with Garcia & Barry, but hopefully getting more attacking as the game develops

Dave, Carlos & Kun to do what they do

But, whatever the result - Be sure to enjoy, as this is the dream (& it really really was a dream)

I play football for a local Saturday team and we train tues nights at 9:00 pm so I'd miss the second half essentially, but when the draw was made I planned to throw a blag, but considering we lost a 2 goal lead (my local team) on sat to draw 2-2 and the last goal conceded in the last minute through my fault fannying on the edge of our box, I feel compelled to train as I may lose my regular place as the gaffer was fumming. tricky situation, any advice welcomed. ??????.

I'm very excited.

Just didn't feel the need to tell anybody, but seeing as there is a request for tales of excitedness; I'm excited.

I sort of agree with the team above but I'd probably go for Zabba at rb. Also I'm not sure Barry is ready. If he is then I'd play him, but if Barry did play I'd be tempted to play Rodwell also & push Yaya forward with Tevez & Silva. I'd encourage Rodwell to get forward in support if we had chance of a break & tell Barry/Garcia to stay back.

Then swap the strikers later if/when Madrid's defenders get tired; perhaps bring on Dzeko & Aguero to try & nick an away goal.

I don't think Bob will do anything we expect though.
