Not a waste of a thread at all.

A fine example to all who post to always cross check multiple sources when making bold claims, else this happens.

Or just post it as B*ll*x ... it saves my ass most days ;)

or delete the whole thread as it's upsetting to see those 3 words in a title when I log on

My apologies everyone ... it was a rumour started on Twitter by some idiot but it got such steam that it was trending worldwide. Now I normally wouldn't just copy paste a tweet but I noticed it trending first so searched on it for the trend and then saw various tweets (not hundreds but thousands, you need millions anyway for it to become a 'trend' worldwide) ... and with all tweets reporting as a serious injury and all giving the same account with a few variations in terms of no. of months he is out for ... what didn't help was me logged on here already and viewing different threads and my trigger happy fingers just created this first before I went around finding details ... which of course by now we know!

Anyway, apologies again ... it does however raise this, how happy we all are if we get a bad news about the scum, in fact half of us are inside waiting for an RVP injury news so we can laugh at them and feel good about us not getting him. Sad, but such is us being crazy for City!

Can we introduce a rule not to post any twitter news/rumours on here? or maybe an official twatter thread?

So someone writes something on Twitter, and various other people copy it, so it's basically news...

Ah I get it now.

Completely agree with this. It really pisses me off that you have retards believing everything they read on Twitter as if it's a genuine news source.

Twitter has just given those idiots who believe what they read in the Sun or hear on Talksport even more ammo.

Twitter is a pile of shit and anyone can make stuff up on it. It absolutely astounds me that people can read something on there and believe it's true immediately without looking at any half-decent news outlet for confirmation.

All Twitter-related threads should clearly have 'Twitter' written in the title so it can be ignored by anyone with half a brain.

Sorry rant over - but the amount of Twitter crap posted on here over the last few months has become unbearable.

Also a fine example to all why to check who the op is before you open a thread.

My son (6) walked out of school today and announced in front of all the parents to my
Mrs that "have you heard the news?.....Wayne Rooney....is....dead" - I understand most of the teachers corpsed laughing

So may it start here - I've heard from a reputable source that Wayne Rooney's gash is worse than expected & he has actually died - although Taggart said he may make a Lazarus like comeback and be fit by October
