I hope Nasti plays in all the matches.

he'll have to if you wnat Vinnie or Joleon dropped.
We only have 3 CBs in the UCL squad so chances are he'll get some more minutes whatever Mancini decides

That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.

To be honest, I think Nasti will play a lot more than people expect, as Lescott will be on his way next year...thats what I think.
Kompany has to adapt with different partners...thats why they fuckign train..Plan A B and C.

I think Kompany at the moment is guilty of trying to do too much and it's really affecting his performance. Jolean has clanger written all over him, you just know it's a possibility although when he is on song, that is our best pairing. Nasti has played one game and was so scared of Benzema you could put him down for an assist on Real's second. However, he did some very good work(as did Garcia, I have a man crush on him already) and this was Real away, I have to question Bob's judgment in playing him TBH.

As for 10 points, after last night's performance I think I am 100% convinced we are getting out of the group, and actually hold belief we can win the group. We haven't been playing well, Aguero isn't back, Balo is allergic to being Balo and Nasri went off injured. However Yaya was phenomenal, Hart was in great form for 99% of the night and Dzeko really does look good at the moment. Garcia has bedded in well, Kolarov looks 10x the player when he is a midfielder...I am hoping he gets up to 20x and starts looking like he belongs in this side and Tevez was just pure fucking class.

There are WAY more positives to take from a 3-2 loss here than negatives I believe, and since the takeover this was by far the best team we have played, I could scarcely believe how good they were.

I agree with you that Mancini probably wants Lescott gone, but that's been the case ever since he started managing us. Lescott has proved him wrong on several occassions and/or his replacements haven't been up to scratch. But if Nasti puts in the kind of effort like he did last night, with a bit more experience under his belt, Lescott is deffo a goner.

I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

then we'll be looking fo ANOTHER replacement CB. gotta stop throwing out the baby with the bath water. We need 4 competitive CBs all capable of doing a job at this level and Nasti's outing suggests we have them. If anyone wants 4 ball playing maestros who play error-free football they are ignoring everything we know about the hsitory of football

I agree with you, I think it's silly of Mancini to show so little faith in Lescott. It sometimes seems like a obsession in the way that he sometimes replaces him for the odd game with a Toure, Savic or now, a Nastacic. Lescott has his weaknesses but in my opinion defending (most of the times anyways) ain't one if them.

You have a point but I think it's Mancini's inability to find a suitable replacement that has hindered him in this case. I don't think Mancini has shown Lescott that he has faith in him by replacing him in the odd important match. I would also say that Mancini has spent a lot of money on the attacking department and perhaps one of the reasons he hasn't frozen out Lescott is because ha hasn't been given the money to replace him.

Anyways, it's guesswork. I just have the feeling he's not a fan of Lescott but has been proven wrong by Lescott's superior defensive abilities, at least compared to anything Mancini has brought in.

IMO Mancini just rested Lescott for the Arsenal game this week, the priority is still the league before anything else

I'd stay there was certainly an element of that.

Mancini rates Lescott. He was quick to pick him when he came in and has generally had him instead of Toure. In 3 summers Mancini has bought centre-halves, but he bought young ones who were partly expected to take time before challenging for starting berths (Boateng, Savic, Nastasic).

If Mancini had wanted to replace Lescott, he would have signed a replacement rather than signing backup players. We haven't even been that closely linked with an experienced centre half who'd come straight into the starting team.

This.

So far, Star Trek was our best defender this season. Much better than Vinnie. Sure, he does a lot of mistakes, but who doesn't?

Bobby wants to prove himself in Europe, i think that is his biggest goal. Domestically he did all that he wanted, here and at Inter. I will never agree on him using this 3-5-2, because it will never work. Yes, we will win games, but our defence will be one of the shitties in the league.

Toure??? Really?? Id still suggest we need one more either way, He looks way out of his depths these days although I agree that we should steer away from constantly shifting players on who could still do a job for us
