because its wrong, people dying is not something that should be mocked. Both pretty horrifc incidents that people take the piss out of. It makes me laugh when City fans get all rightous when they hear the Foe chants. I guess if its given out you have to learn to take it eh. There is no place in football for this but its never going to stop due to the types of people that watch football.

I think that trying to compare this incident with some of our fans behaviour is way off the mark. Yes, we have people who use colourful and inciteful langauge but when it comes down to it we have the sense and decency to keep it under wraps when required. The only comparison we can make is the Munich 50th where we respected their right to remember the tragedy, even though many didn't agree with the batterings we were getting in the press prior and the way that the Rags actually used the occassion for commercial benefit.

Compare and contrast that day to what occured on Sunday. We both won the games yet we walked away singing our songs and not trying to spoil or disrupt their remembrance day.

So, please don't lump us in with the likes of the Rags, or the Dippers for that matter, we have proved ourselves, they have just proved themselves, with totally different outcomes.

I completely agree I just think they should both get in shit for it as its been mentioned on skysports, if nothing is said of it then its a joke, you just know if it was us in the limelight we wouldn't hear the end of it.

Hard to throw stones when we've had several threads on here down the years advocating the Munich chants.

This^....City fans are just as bad, cant recall going to a game where we havent sang some song with Munich in it.

I honestly can't recall the last time I did hear Munich chants at a match! Which makes me proud of my fellow Blues.

All the more reason for us to stop doing it then, let them be shown up as the wankers & our fans & club as an example of a superior entity, but unfortunately a percentage of our fans are too fucking thick & selfish to realise that & continually give these shits a 'get out of jail free card' by using inhuman, scum level insults, just like them.

Jason mcateer (sp) was just on SSN saying that the 2 Liverpool fans were to blame etc etc. Not condoning the scums fans but the Liverpool guys started it... So that warrants 3000 fans singing murderers.

Wankers the lot of them. Anyone that sings shit like that is a wanker, city fans included.

The question is though, why wasn't this reported on by the many media outlets?

MoTDs coverage of the match last night was very strange where Lawrenson stated that Halsey got 100% of the calls right. He seemed so simplistic in his style that it just didn't sit right, and then no comment on the events afterwards, seemed very stranged to me. Almost as if Lawrenson was put in a position of 'Toe the party line or you're out' scenario. Lawrenson duly obliged but would therefore not comment on anything related to the game.

This seems like PR overdrive, slipping little snippets out to the public then using recognised figures to defuse/discredit/refute the situation. The Rags are far and away the bigger club these days and have run the media for years. Liverpool are not the pull anymore and if I was being cynical I would suggest that the aftermath of what happened is being very much manipulated to ensure Man United are not seen in too much of a bad light. 3000 Rags singing obscenities, 2 Dippers start it. Dippers singing a poignant song, not a problem with Rags disrespecting it. And so on.

That's what we have to contend with I fear.

Makes me laugh when the media talk about city signing munich song's and make it out like were singing it 50,000 strong when the truth is it's a minority. I haven't heard a munich song in time but i don't believe that people don't sing it.

There were 3,000 United singing it (i'm sure not all of them where) and they're a minority (although i've been to Old Trafford and witnessed 70,000 singing murderers at Liveprool). Scousers baiting the away end with airplanes clearly just don't get it do they.

It makes you realize how many headlines we fucked up by honouring the minutes silence on their anniversary! (and winning mwahahaha)

Really? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Good.

It's things like this we have to rely on (apart from sorting our own form out obviously), given the leg-ups they get at every other obstacle. Hope he trips up on the way into rehab and snaps both his shins.
