Silva must have had the ball 100 times. It was him at his brilliant best. Watching him dribble slow as he likes with two defenders on him and no fear of losing it is a special sight in football.

He gave the goal away ;-)

It wasn't a pen AND there was a covering player between the goal and the ball. The ref gave the goal away. I lost count of the number of tackles Zabs put in but I'd be interested to know the stats for the match (and interceptions).

Silva by a mile. Someone has voted for Garcia. OK, educate me. What am I missing? I thought he hid again, almost all the time. I have seen nothing from him that I like, nothing at all.

I voted Garcia. Just because he's the best looking. Genuinely.

Out of interest; someone on the match thread put that he played well.
Which is it?

Pablo by a country mile for me.
I saw some decent performances, Edin proved yet again he deserves a starting place, Merlin started to show his true self for the 1st game in the season (far from his almost best, tho).... but Mad Zab has been simply perfect either covering and pushing and cutting in the box, so credit when credit's due, to me.

I very often find myself wondering if I never saw, in my lifetime I mean, such an astonishing improvement other than that shown by Pablo, since where he was an utility, impact player who struggled to make the bench 3 years ago and the superb, complete full back which he shows to be now in most of his performances. and everyone is aware that I am a massive Micah licker, btw.

We all have different opinions. Whoever suggested he played well may have been buoyed by the win. Garcia hid constantly. Me and a mate had a great stream and were able point it out, over and over again. That aside, his pace is genuinely far too slow.

Zaba for me. Fantastic game both in attack and defence. Silva was good and getting back to his best but by his high standards we know he can play better. Some off his early passes were off the mark. I remember him passing straight to Rodallega (I think) near halfway to set up a Fulham counter. I was impressed with his appetite for the game. He constantly wanted the ball which bodes well.
