Looked like he was about to destroy us then didn't, you mean.
His attributes are obvious but he is a player who is flawed & also a player you have to make special provisions for, if he is in your team.
As a wide player for instance, he unbalances the team & you almost need another extra player on that side. He was one of the main reasons City were able to get at Real 2nd half.
Imo, if Ronald plays, you have to treat him almost as you would a centre forward ie: don't expect him to do anything but play in the opponent's half.
But, he's a wanker & Messi is better. Play that formation v Messi & we'll be 6 down by half time.

As a human being maybe but he's not even close to Ronaldo ability wise.

On the evidence of last night he's better. To suggest he's not even close is ridiculous.

On the evidence of one game? So are Ajax better than us? You can't judge off one game. Ronaldo scored 60 odd goals last season. That contribution alone makes himamore valuable asset. SIlva's brilliant but not at Ronaldo's level.

I never said he was better. I simply said I prefer him and that yesterday he played better.
I also rubbished your opinion that he is not even close to Ronaldo ability wise. As far as being close to the two best players in the world you dont get much much better than our Dave. You could also argue that on the big stage he's a more consistant performer.

I don't really get the 'he never performs in big games' argument. He actually does a lot of the time. I think it's one of those media myths that started and has continued (like many about City!).

He's there with the likes of Ronaldinho and Del Piero - brilliant players but when you need them to really dig in and perform when the chips are down, they disappear. Baggio dragged Italy to a World Cup final in 94 and they may have won it, if he'd been fit for that game. Maradona won a World Cup in 86. There may have been others in the Argentina side, but no one can remember. Tranny is no where near that level of mental grit and there a dozens of examples of days when he does nothing - lots for Portugal and pretty much every Manchester derby despite usually playing a shit City side.
