carl_kneejerkreaction_OTT_feedthegoat has a nice ring to it. Nice one Doug.

Lescott doesn't play, carl_kneejerkreaction_OTT_feedthegoat looks for another scapegoat.

Lescott was brilliant when he came on though. What a player. We have to keep him. He is the best player in the side.

dry bumming isn't something we get enough of on here anymore. Thank you for that.

OT, it seems like there are about 5-6 really strong keepers in the Prem who we ought to be able to unsettle one of and give them a fucking amazing wage and a sniff in some Cups. It seems like a really fantastic era for keepers all of a sudden, and Joe needs to realize that if we were smarter he'd have some competition and potentially need to fight for his place.

As it stands now he has nothing to motivate him except how big he thinks his bollocks are. I've always done my best work in life when there was some fucker to prove wrong, or someone to beat to something and earn what i knew i deserved from my hard work and vision. Joe has neither.

cheers

I fuck off into the corner because you are the only thicket left to poke fun at. In fact, you are so thick that Baldrick makes fun of your stupidity, but you probably wouldn't know who he is, being an expat and all. I'd rediculing you further, but no dictionary has a definition for that word.

I've just been reading a blog on % saves by keepers in the Prem for the first 19 games and it shows that Joe was well below the average at the start of the season (remember those shit goals that went in) but is now back up however still below the average.

Here's what it says:

City

Whilst City's Scoring % has remained fairly constant throughout the season (although ranked 14th) their Save % has at least shown signs of improvement. However, for just two games has their Save % been above the league average. As much as their Scoring % has resulted in a high number of draws this season the fact that although they boast the Premier League's best record in terms of shots on target against, the low Save % may also be hindering them; an aspect not often talked about as the focus has primarily been on the attack.

We can see a significant increase from the problematic early week an the past ten games have taken on a more consistent look but it is a figure City still need to increase beyond the Premier League average. If they manage this they will be reduce even further the goals conceded, perhaps - and much depends also on their Scoring % - increase their points haul, minimisin the high number of draws that have seen them - despite being defeated only twice - slip a significant distance back from United.

There's some interesting analysis/stats on there with regard to attacking, defending etc which shows things like how we need to improve in front of goal due to ourlow conversion rate etc. If you have the inclination, have a gander.

He's one of the best goal keepers in the world. Going through a bad patch no doubt, but dropping goal keepers doesn't regain their confidence, it finishes them.

You should be suggesting selling him if that's how you feel. And that would be a bit silly imo.

Hart is suffering like Reina is, in that there's no proper competition - no doubting Hart's ability, but if you are pretty much undroppable, then you run the risk of becoming a little relaxed & making silly mistakes - I wouldn't say drop him, but he needs a kick up the arse & some proper competition, which I accept is hard when the competition might be sat on the bench for an entire season

I nearly suggested it last night - Brum (Birmingham) are supposed to be in financial trouble so they might be willing to sell Butland. He could be a young English understudy to a young English keeper, and hopefully provide the much needed boot up his arse.

Fool, Fool, Fool, Fool......the best young Keeper to come out of England since Peter Shilton, get real mate he will have a bad patch but hey, its been along long time happening. He got shit loads of stick yesterday from the Naaarich fans but turned to us and pumped his chest to show his appreciation to the travelling fans . Give the lad a break, who do you want in goals ? the Naaarich fans sang " Your just a shit John Ruddy" to Big Joe. Top top keeper who all the Prem and others would die for, get off his back unless you can come up with a much much better keeper for £600k he is high quality.

Every top keeper goes through a period where things are extra difficult. Our defence is 100%, so that causes more problems for the lad.
The lad has plenty to carry on his shoulders, he is being more criticised because he is England's no.1 and the keeper of the reigning champions.
He will get his head down and keep working in his game. Joe is a tough bloke and I can only see him getting better and better.
Those who are saying 'bench him', need to think about what they are saying. Not many keepers have the quality and maturity our Joe has.

I will be watching him like a hawk against Stoke.

Edit ; just heard that Lescott will get the nod as aparently he is great at heading so my analisis will have to be split.

In case things don't go well v Stoke I think you should have a paramedic standing by!

Where does that Lescott info come from? Certainly some logic in it.

I remember about 3 pre seasons ago in America when he was at Nike and trying out those blinker shades which help to speed up your reactions. He had a good season after that.. Maybe he should try them again.
