No, they had it last year as part of the normal schedule, and they wanted to change to odd years to avoid clashing with the world and European cup years.

Obviously leaving it 3 years was unthinkable financially so they are playing in consecutive years whilst they make the transition

Arsenal has Gervinho.

Tottenham has Adebayor.

Chelsea lost Mikel.

Is any other premier league team missing anyone?
