It was actually worse than that mate, United had 3 shots on target (10 shots in total) and scored 3 goals. One was obviously blocked/deflected but it's not too shabby, is it.

We had 18 shots with 9 on target.

Well there you go mate, I didn't realise it was that much and that has been symptomatic of our play this season. At times we have played well, like for the last 2 months, other times we have been indifferent in performances or just ground out the results but the main theme throughout the season is our inability to be as ruthless, clinical in front of goal as we need to be given the chances we have created for ourselves.

Even going back to the opening game against Southampton ironically, we were 1up and we had 2,3,4 chances in the first 10 mins of 2nd half to kill them off and we missed them all and of course they scored a couple and it became a real scrap and ultimately we won 3-2.

So really as I have said before if we are to maintain our title challenge and for us to win 12 or all 13 of our remaining league matches, then our strikers but also the midfield have to convert our chances more regularly. Ultimately if we don't, we'll finish 2nd and if we end up on 80 or 85 points and that is not enough, well so be it and we'll have had a good title challenge, congratulations to them, we'll learn and look forward to next season!

One option in a game like tomorrow would be to play Tevez, Silva, Aguero in an attacking 3 behind Dzeko. There are problems with that as we might be too overloaded in attack and affects the balance of the side, also we would have no centre forward on the bench to change things as Guidetti is still trying to recover fitness.

Some things transcend what goes on the field.

Southampton Doctors Save 3yo Man City Girl Fan

Felicity was born with a hole in the heart and needed specialist treatment which she was given at the Southampton specialist heart unit after it was selected over the Great Ormond Street unit.

Parents Daniel and Frances Williams took their toddler for the life-saving operation in May 2011 and have been taking her back for regular check-ups since.

After contacting Manchester City and Southampton FC the family will be at the game between the two teams. The family will visit the City team before the match in the away dressing room, and older brother James will be the team mascot for the game.

Father Daniel was full of praise for the doctors that saved his little girl, and both clubs for the way they have helped make the match-day a special event for his girl.

Saints are even putting little Felicity as pride of place in the match-day programme.

For me this is a story that shows there is still a heart beating within our football and sometimes even having bucket loads of money means absolutely nothing.

Full story is in the Daily Echo

The Tevez question is tricky, he has started and played more games this season than any of our other strikers and is still a very good player but his goalscoring is going backwards at an alarming rate. Also as far as Tevez is concerned, is it fair to say that he has never quite got back to his best of May 2011?

Assuming Kompany is fit and with Yaya back etc, only Richards now injured and Nastasic perhaps still not absolutely fully fit.

I would go with

----------------------Hart

Zabaleta--------Kompany--Lescott----Clichy

------------------Yaya Toure---Barry

Milner--------------Aguero------------Silva

----------------------Dzeko

Subs:
Pantillimon
K Toure
Maicon
Nasri
Tevez
Sinclair
Kolarov

Or Garcia, Rodwell

it might have to do with the fact that it is difficult for any of our strikers to score since it takes up too long to get the ball up fast, we end up setting up camp outside their box, even for such a small man, it is still a tight squeeze.
Still here.

lol ,Carl never give up ,King :). And for game and team, i m so glad that defenders if they are under pressure will have somebody to pass the ball (Yaya). Against Liverpool we where missing that ,Garcia was not up to the job and Barry did well try something but in true in midlle we where missing one guy . Garcia is good breaking counter , and strong in air ,but guy for DM don't have pass in him at all.I really can't see how is he better then what we had (De jong), and for me we where more in need for DM like Pirilo or De rossi type. We have strong kind who can pass to next player, what we don't have is one DM who will take the ball after was bounce after corner or something like that, and turn araund and find with good pass our front three, to speed up our transfer of ball, to make more counter , de facto DM capable of making long pass . I think we don't have midfield strong enough, that's why we are lacking in speed, and to not even try to have wingers like plan is mistake, last year at list we have Adam who was useful , all rags do is play on wingers pass it in box, and score, but they play fast up, and course we need our strikers to take at list 60 % of chance we don't use 20 % i think if somebody do the math.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

I hate playing bottom 5 clubs much more than the top 5 nowadays, it's a hiding to nothing. If we win it's expected, if we lose or draw we are having the worse run perhaps in mancinis career. As usual I'm shitting myself

It'll be interesting to see how Aguero does today. I thought he did very little last week until he scored and then he played like a man possessed. Very much seems to be a confidence player so I'm hoping a goal has done him some good

He did very little but he also saw very little of the ball due to the midfield problems.
