I don't know like anyone else here whether Mancini has lost the dressing room or any part of it. I do assume though that the sheik would know if it's the case.

What I can't understand is that if Mancini does believe the players have become complacent, and it didn't just show for the first time last night, why he he hasn't done anything about it. And I don't mean by that buying a whole shedload of new players.I mean by putting pressure on players by dropping them and giving the "reserves" a chance.

Easier said than done especially when at times we haven't had that many people in with even half a chance of a game.Sinclair is the obvious one but maybe also Razak and Rekik and of course Pantillimon.I am not saying they are even good enough for a top 4 side in the prem but it gives players either a rest or a kick up the backside.

And when he does leave someone out it tends to be Milner or Clichy because he seems to like Kolarov so gives him games or just feels he must play Yaya,Barry,Silva and Nasri when available.

I don't know about losing the dressing room and I suppose none of us do. Mancini seems to exhibit his main weakness during games, in full view of us, the watching fans. He makes bizarre changes and the wrong times and this happens more than enough to make me wonder about him. He marshalled us to trophies, sure, but with the backing of dream owners. I doubt he can take us to the next level and he buys too many shit, really shit, players. I expect him to go in the summer and I did think that he might walk away last night, if the rumours of unrest were true. On the evidence of recent matches and that disgusting display last night, I can understand the speculation about unrest, etc.

Well, he has a couple of options open to him, but all involve man management, which I believe is his achilles heel. The very best managers will see players go through slumps in form, which inevvitably lead to a loss of confidence and then perhaps motivation. But through carrot and stick, motivation and inspiration, the manager sees the person through that spell.

Its not just true in football, its true for all of us in every walk of life.

Mancini seems more intent to antagonise than reconcile, and repeatedly publicly calling out his players is just not good management. Especially so if they believe he is part of the confidence problem because of his tactics, many will resent his every word if they believe he is the problem. It wont matter who he replaces in the starting 11 if it is like that

I would expect a meeting with the team to be held by the captain at some point in the days to come over what happened last night and the general malaise, and it is upto the captain and the manager to resolve that. If Mancini remains aloof and the players are not happy, he will be a dead man walking because no matter how good the players, if they think this title is over, and they want him gone, they will do the bare fucking minimum either consciously or unconsciously until he is gone.

Professional pride and basic abilty will see them through plenty of games, even to the fa cup final which is only 3 games away, which is why reaching the fa cup final is not necessarily an indicator that mancini should stay. The players can almost see that prize, they are capable of reaching out over 3 games and grabbing that for themselves. The bread and butter of the league however is where you will see the motivational issues once the title appears out of sight.

I think Mancini is gone in the summer. Even winning the FA cup won't save him this time (if we were to win it).

I also don't agree with him coming out like he did and having a go a Joe Hart in public about how he isn't good enough etc.

While that might be truth this season, you don't go out and tell the press. He deflected all the blame to the players when his tactics and substitution were once again absolute SHIT.

I don't like Mancini's interviews at the best of times but after a defeat they are usually the worst. However, I don't think he said too much out of place yesterday and much less than he could have. He said what we were all thinking/saying though so no great shakes.

Asked if City could still win the title, he said: "We have a 10% chance: 12 points is too much at this moment."

"It was worse than poor," said the Italian. "We didn't play, it was 11 against two so it's difficult.

"I think this is the worst game in the last two or three years.

"The players played really bad - without strength, without personality. We conceded a goal that I have never seen in my life.

"I was really disappointed with my players today. When we perform like today I'm very angry. The players were away on international duty - that's not an excuse, but it is a reason.

"Some of our players came back on Friday and we played today. This made it difficult. In the end we played badly."

On Joe Hart, whose mistake allowed Steve Davis top put Southampton 2-0 up.

"It was a really bad mistake," admitted Mancini.

"But this is not strange. He has made two or three mistakes this year and this is not good for us."

He added: "We need to work more. Because we won last year, we think we are top players but to be top players you have to work.

"It'll be very difficult to win the league. I used to always be optimistic and want to be in this moment, but it's difficult."
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".
