Whilst he may have been right in what he said, what the fuck did he expect to happen? The fans hated him before he got there, the team is in bits, results were not good, and the owner is a basket case. The truly stupid thing he did was take the job in the first place. Whilst I don't actually dislike the bloke, I've always thought he has an extremely high opinion of his own ability which has not always been matched by his performance (like a big time Phil Brown) and he clearly thought he could get a grip of the situation and turn it round and probably end up as permanent(ish) manager. I suspect he was the only person on earth who thought this was the case.
